Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week.

Female Nominees
Riley Frisinger (Cedar Crest / So.) – Soccer: The sophomore midfielder had 2 goals and 2 assists in Cedar Crest’s wins over Muhlenberg and Cedar Cliff last week. Frisinger continues to be a key playmaker for the Falcons, helping the team improve to a 3-3 record following Monday’s win over Conestoga Valley.
Stefani Guedez (Lebanon / Sr.) – Field Hockey: The senior goalkeeper made an incredible 33 saves in Saturday’s game against Octorara. Despite Lebanon being outshot 48-0, Guedez stood tall under immense pressure, delivering an impressive performance.
Shea Moyer (Northern Lebanon / Jr.) – Volleyball: The junior had an outstanding week on September 2nd and 4th, contributing 28 kills, 7 digs, 6 aces, and 2 blocks. Moyer’s efforts were instrumental in leading the Lady Vikings to victories over Donegal and Columbia.
Paityn Newswanger (ELCO / So.) – Cross Country & Field Hockey: The sophomore dual-sport athlete set a personal record at Saturday’s LVC Invitational, running 22:10 to finish 57th. Immediately after the race, she traveled to Muhlenberg High School and scored the first goal in ELCO’s 6-0 field hockey victory over the Muhls.
Mackenzie Stellmach (Annville-Cleona / Jr.) – Cross Country: The junior ran a time of 19:01 to finish 3rd overall at the LVC Dutchmen Invitational at Union Canal Park, earning top honors among Lebanon County athletes. Stellmach’s performance helped guide the Dutchmen to the team championship.
Jovie Weaver (Palmyra / Sr.) – Field Hockey: The senior had a standout week, scoring a goal and an assist versus Northern York and adding 2 goals against Mifflin County. She finished the week by netting 2 goals in Saturday’s Cougar Classic win over West Perry, the defending 1A state champion.
Gigi Victa (New Covenant / Sr.) – Volleyball: The senior displayed strong leadership both on and off the court this week. Victa showed maturity in stressful situations while rallying her teammates with energy and enthusiasm, helping guide New Covenant to a 2–1 JV victory over CSoY.
Male Nominees
Cameron Buchmoyer (Lebanon / Sr.) – Football: On Friday night against Conrad Weiser, the senior linebacker recorded 15 tackles, including 6 solo stops and 1 tackle for loss. At running back, he rushed 10 times for 82 yards, averaging 8.2 yards per carry. Buchmoyer’s all-around effort helped the Cedars hold the Scouts scoreless through the first quarter as Lebanon fought hard before ultimately falling 28-6.
Cornelius Cummings (Palmyra / Sr.) – Cross Country: The senior finished 2nd overall at the LVC Dutchmen Invitational, running 15:53.6. Cummings’ strong performance helped the Cougars secure a 3rd-place team finish.
Oliver Funck (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Cross Country: Running a time of 16:12.6, the senior finished 6th overall at Saturday’s LVC Dutchmen Invitational at Union Canal Park. Funck’s performance helped Annville secure a 7th-place team finish out of a field of more than 35 teams.
Owen Fisher (New Covenant / Sr.) – Soccer: The junior reached the 100-career point milestone with two goals and two assists against Annville-Cleona. Fisher also recorded an assist versus West Shore on September 2 and a goal against Lititz Christian on September 4, continuing to lead the Flames’ attack.
Luke Hentz (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Cross Country: The senior ran 16:51.4 to finish 24th overall at Saturday’s LVC Dutchmen Invitational. His effort contributed to the Vikings’ 14th-place finish out of more than 35 teams.
Lucas Schreier (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – Soccer: The junior midfielder scored a goal in each of the Falcons’ two wins last week. His efforts helped Cedar Crest secure victories over Solanco and Northern Lebanon, improving the team to 4-0.
Gavin Yeiser (ELCO / So.) – Football: The sophomore served as an offensive spark plug for the Raiders in Friday’s 28-14 victory over Lancaster Catholic. Yeiser rushed 6 times for 73 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown, and added 2 receptions for 99 yards, including a long of 70, helping set up several big plays for the team.
