The Cedar Crest golf team delivered another strong performance on Wednesday, edging Manheim Township on the Blue Streaks’ home course at Four Seasons. With their top four golfers combining for a team score of 298, the Falcons slipped past Township’s 302 to claim the Section 1 victory and move into a tie for first place in the season standings.
Leading the way for Cedar Crest was Dylan Ramsey, who fired a 70 to earn medalist honors by two strokes. Ramsey’s steady round on the par-72 course paced the Falcons against a field that once again featured several of the league’s top contenders.
Just behind him was teammate Carson DiBiaso, who carded an even-par 72 to share runner-up honors with Manheim Township’s Joe Bilson and Ephrata’s Makenna Heckman.
Cedar Crest also got a balanced effort from its depth, as Bryn Brandt (78) and Drew Gebhard (78) both landed inside the top 10 to round out the Falcons’ scoring. Township countered with Bilson and Charlie Sheehan (73), but Cedar Crest’s quartet under 80 gave the Falcons the edge in the head-to-head battle.
Also golfing for Cedar Crest were Sean Glover (82) and Aiden Fessler (85), adding valuable depth to the Falcons’ lineup.
In the overall standings, the Falcons (9-1) now sit even with Township (9-1) at the top of Section 1. Ephrata (6-4) finished a distant third on the day with a 321, followed by Hempfield (329), Warwick (332), and Penn Manor (352). Manheim Township’s girls’ team also competed, led by Sonia Dumasia, who finished sixth overall with a 77.
Cedar Crest will return to action on Tuesday, September 3, when Warwick hosts the next Section 1 match at Overlook Golf Course—the same course where the season began. With momentum on their side and a share of first place secured, the Falcons will look to keep pushing forward in the title race.
