District 3 Playoffs
Lebanon 47, Ephrata 19
With the #1 seed, the Cedars earned a bye in the 1st round of the District 3 -6A Playoffs. Their task on Thursday night was to get by Ephrata, a team they soundly defeated, 50-27, when the two squads met on January 13th. However, having a week off following the Lancaster League Playoffs had the possibility of being a challenge for Lebanon at home against the Mounts.
In the 1st quarter, Lebanon got out to a slow start, with Ephrata limiting them to just 6 points. In the 2nd quarter, the Cedars began to click into gear, with Kailah Correa leading on her way to 10 points in the 1st half. At the break, Lebanon had built a 20-13 lead.
Halftime adjustments on the defensive end of the floor broke the game wide-open when play resumed. In the 3rd quarter, the Cedars outscored Ephrata 17-0. Lili Harrison scored 6 points, while Correa and Olive Brandt each scored 5 points as they both hit a three-pointer. With a 37-13 lead headed into the 4th quarter, Coach Walborn extended her rotation as the Cedars cruised to victory and punched their ticket for the District 3 Semifinals.
Correa ended the game with 17 points. Brandt scored 12, and Harrison pitched in 11 as the duo joined their leading scorer in double-figures.
With this victory, Lebanon (23-3) qualified for the PIAA State Championship Tournament. In the District 3 Semifinals, they will now host #4 Dallastown on Monday night
