This past weekend, the Palmyra Cougars made their annual trip to Pittsburgh, PA to wrestle in the Moon Duals. Despite missing three starters due to injury, the Cougars opened strong by winning their first three matches against Blackhawk, Beth-Center, and Ambridge by a combined score of 204-15. In the fourth match, the Cougars wrestled the reigning Moon Duals Champion, West Allegheny, losing a heartbreaker in a back-and-forth battle 39-30. The loss placed the Cougars into the 3rd place match, in which they came out victorious by defeating the home team, Moon Area, with a final score of 43-20.
Outstanding Cougar Wrestlers on the day were the Hoffer Twins, Xavier and Vance, with a combined record of 9-1, Mason Bucks with a perfect 5-0 day, and Logan Brown, Stevie Stine and Jayson Albright all finishing 4-1.
The Cougars travel to CD East this Thursday to take on the Panthers at 6:30 PM.
