Hamburg 67, Northern Lebanon 62
On Saturday afternoon, Northern Lebanon hosted Hamburg, and the Vikings found themselves in a back-and-forth battle that swung late in the second half.
Hamburg jumped out to a 20-13 lead by the end of the 1st quarter, despite 7 points from Carter Moyer. Northern Lebanon responded quickly in the 2nd, using a strong quarter to take a 35-31 lead into halftime. The run was fueled by 9 points from Moyer and 6 from Andrew Via.
Hamburg rode a wave of momentum in the 3rd quarter, turning the game and taking a one-point lead heading into the final eight minutes. The visitors then used a solid 4th quarter effort to keep the game just out of reach, even as the Vikings made multiple pushes — highlighted by a pair of three-pointers from Moyer and another from Bryce Martin.
The sophomore Moyer finished with 26 points, including five three-pointers. Via added 20 points, knocking down a three and going a perfect 5-for-5 from the foul line.
As far as Hamburg goes, their 67 point total likely led to them yelling 6-7! to each other the whole way home.
Northern Lebanon (9-10) is scheduled to play ELCO on Monday night.

Methacton 63, Cedar Crest 48
On Saturday, Cedar Crest hosted District 1’s Methacton for a matchup. Methacton entered the game with a record of 16-3, ranking them No. 2 in District 1’s 6A rankings. In other words, it was going to be a tough task for the Falcons — but also a learning experience for Coach Smith’s young lineup.
While Cedar Crest lost ground across the first two quarters, resulting in a 31-20 halftime deficit, there were still some bright spots as the Falcons continued to battle.
In the 3rd quarter, Cedar Crest outscored Methacton 17-16, led by a dynamic quarter from Jemar Pauleus, who scored 13 points. However, it would not be enough, as the team from Montgomery County remained in control the remainder of the game.
Pauleus finished with 19 points, a scoring effort that included two three-pointers. Cam Tirado, Antonio Tirado, and Jaxon Bechtold each scored 6 points.

Annville-Cleona 46, Williams Valley 38
After picking up a win over Pequea Valley on Thursday, the Dutchmen were right back at it Friday night at home, hosting Williams Valley — and Annville-Cleona finished the week with another strong effort to make it two straight.
The teams traded punches early, playing to a 10-10 draw after the 1st quarter behind 6 points from James Garney. Williams Valley edged ahead in the 2nd and took a 23-22 lead into halftime, despite first-half three-pointers from Zari Hogue and John Ditzler.
Williams Valley extended the margin in the 3rd, carrying a 25-22 advantage into the final quarter.
Then came the 4th.
Annville-Cleona found its rhythm offensively while clamping down defensively, flipping the game with a dominant closing stretch. Hudson Sellers scored 8 points in the quarter as the Dutchmen outscored Williams Valley 14-2 down the stretch to pull away.
Sellers and Garney finished with 15 points apiece to lead Annville-Cleona.

ELCO 52, Manheim Central 37
The Raiders entered Friday night’s home game against Manheim Central looking to get back in the win column after tough losses to Lampeter-Strasburg and Cocalico. To do it, ELCO knew they’d have to get by a tough Barons squad.
The game got off to a great start for ELCO, as the Raiders jumped out to a 16-6 lead through one quarter of play. The scoring was led by Kaden Tillison with 7 points, including a three-pointer, and James Dolan, who scored 5 and knocked down a triple of his own.
In the 2nd quarter, the offensive pace slowed for ELCO, but the defense held firm as the Raiders protected a nine-point lead heading into halftime. Paul Williams, who announced earlier in the day that he had received a scholarship offer to play football at Shippensburg, scored 4 points in the quarter.
The 3rd quarter sealed it for ELCO, as the Raiders dominated on both ends of the floor on their way to outscoring the Barons 13-4. Tillison knocked down two more threes in the frame, scoring 7 points to help ELCO create separation.
While Manheim Central scored more points in the 4th quarter than the previous three quarters combined, the Barons were met with a strong response from ELCO. Dolan scored 7 points in the final quarter as the Raiders closed out the win.
ELCO had four players in double figures, led by Tillison’s 16-point effort. The senior hit three three-pointers and went 3-for-4 at the line. Josiah Hayes added 11 points, while Williams and Dolan finished with 10 apiece.
ELCO (10-6) is scheduled to play Northern Lebanon on Monday night as the Raiders enter the final stretch of the season looking to earn a District playoff berth.

Northern Lebanon 59, Columbia 41
On Thursday night, Northern Lebanon had a chance to climb back to .500 and complete a season sweep of Columbia — and the Vikings did it on the road, showing early that the hostile environment wouldn’t be a factor.
Northern Lebanon jumped out in the 1st quarter, building a 13-4 lead with six different Vikings finding the scoreboard. Andrew Via led the early charge with 4 points, while Carter Moyer knocked down a three as part of the balanced start.
Columbia responded in the 2nd, matching Northern Lebanon 18-18 in the quarter, but the Vikings continued to rely on a team approach and carried a 31-22 lead into halftime. Moyer paced the Vikings in the frame with 7 points.
The Vikings created separation in the 3rd quarter behind a big stretch from Via, who scored 10 points in the period as Northern Lebanon extended the lead to 46-30 heading into the 4th.
Columbia continued to battle in the final eight minutes, but Northern Lebanon stayed composed and closed out the win to finish the sweep.
Via finished with 18 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 performance from the free-throw line. Moyer added 12 points, with two three-pointers accounting for half of his total. Kael Erdman hit a pair of threes on his way to 8 points, while Ryan Clemmer chipped in 9.

Cedar Crest 64, Lebanon 54
On Thursday night, in a game broadcast as part of our LebCo Sports Live series, Cedar Crest visited Lebanon for another chapter in one of the county’s classic rivalry matchups.
Cedar Crest struck first, taking a 20-17 lead after the 1st quarter as Coach Smith rolled out a new-look starting lineup that clicked early. Jemar Pauleus and Antonio Tirado each scored 6 points in the opening frame, while Lebanon was paced by Manny Martinez, who had 7 in the quarter.
Lebanon responded in the 2nd, tightening up defensively and taking control heading into the break with a 34-27 halftime lead. Noriah Jones scored 7 points in the quarter, and the Cedars got a boost from the perimeter as Martinez, Gauge Soliday, and Elliot Schappell all connected from three.
The Cedars carried the momentum into the 3rd, extending the lead to 48-39 behind a big quarter from Martinez, who scored 10 points in the frame.
But Cedar Crest has made a habit of rallying this season, and the Falcons delivered again. Facing a nine-point deficit entering the 4th, Cedar Crest flipped the game with a dominant final eight minutes, outscoring Lebanon 25-6 to complete the comeback. Tirado took over down the stretch with 11 points in the quarter, while Jayden Truss added 9 as the Falcons avoided what would have been considered an upset — especially with Lebanon playing without leading scorer Derek Franco.
Tirado finished with 19 points to lead Cedar Crest, with Pauleus also reaching double figures with 10. For Lebanon, Martinez scored 23 points, hitting three three-pointers and going 4-for-5 at the line. Jones added 10.
Cedar Crest (12-6) is scheduled to play Methacton on Saturday at Manheim Central. Lebanon (7-12) is off until next Thursday, when the Cedars are slated to travel to Hempfield.

On Thursday, the Dutchmen welcomed Pequea Valley to “The Barn” for the second meeting between the two teams this season. After dropping the first matchup, Annville-Cleona came in determined to make sure history didn’t repeat itself — and the Dutchmen delivered.
Annville set the tone early, taking a 12-6 lead after the 1st quarter behind 4 points apiece from Hudson Sellers and Max Ortwein. The defense continued to do its job in the 2nd, limiting Pequea Valley’s chances while Annville added to the lead to take a 21-9 advantage into halftime.
Out of the break, Annville stayed in control, matching PV’s energy and maintaining the cushion. Zari Hogue provided a lift with 4 points in the 3rd as the Dutchmen carried momentum into the final quarter.
Pequea Valley made a push in the 4th, but Annville answered at the line, with James Garney and Ortwein knocking down key free throws to close out the win.
Sellers led the Dutchmen with 12 points. Hogue finished with 8, and Garney added 7.

New Covenant wasted no time taking control. Behind 8 points from Ben Rhine and 9 from Grayden Summers in the 1st quarter, the Flames raced out to a 25-6 lead. The advantage only grew in the 2nd, as Coach Kantner was able to go to his bench early, and New Covenant carried a 40-11 lead into halftime.

Palmyra 66, Lower Dauphin 63 [OT]
On Wednesday evening, Palmyra traveled to Lower Dauphin to take on the Falcons, looking to snap a four-game skid and get back on track down the stretch with a postseason berth on the line.
The Cougars got off to a slow start and found themselves playing from behind early, trailing 17-11 after the 1st quarter. Palmyra settled in during the 2nd, trimming the deficit to just one by halftime, 30-29. Brady Kyper knocked down two three-pointers in the opening half and led the Cougars with 8 points at the break, while Braydon Bown added 6 points in the quarter. A pair of first-half threes from Luke Johnson also helped keep Palmyra within striking distance.
The two teams traded buckets in the 3rd, with Lower Dauphin edging the frame 16-14 to carry a 46-43 lead into the 4th, despite 6 points in the quarter from Micah Warner.
Palmyra’s best stretch came late. Trailing in the final minutes, the Cougars made a push to extend the game, with Bownscoring 5 points down the stretch as Palmyra pulled even at 55-55 by the end of regulation.
In overtime, Warner took over, scoring 6 points in the extra session as the Cougars completed what had once looked like an improbable comeback to earn the win.
Bown finished with 17 points to lead Palmyra, hitting two threes and going 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. Warneradded 16 points, while Johnson connected on three three-pointers on his way to 15. Kyper also reached double figures with 10 points.

Cedar Crest 62, Lampeter-Strasburg 59
Cedar Crest has been on a roll of late, winning six of its last seven games. On Tuesday, the Falcons hit the road for a non-league matchup at Lampeter-Strasburg — a Section 3 program with a rich basketball tradition.
Crest set the tone early, jumping out to a 21-13 lead by the end of the first quarter. Jemar Pauleus, the reigning LebCo Athlete of the Week, led the way with six points in the opening frame, while Cam Tirado added five.
The Falcons built on that advantage in the second, taking a 35-23 lead into halftime. Jemar Pauleus poured in nine points in the quarter, with Antonio Tirado contributing five as Crest continued to control the tempo.
L-S answered coming out of the break, trimming Cedar Crest’s lead to four during a strong third quarter push. That set up a tense final eight minutes, but Crest found its rhythm offensively at the right time and kept the Pioneers from ever getting over the hump. Jemar Pauleus and Antonio Tirado each scored five in the fourth, and six different Falcons found the scoring column in the quarter to help preserve the win.
Jemar Pauleus led all scorers with 24 points, adding a three-pointer and going 5-for-10 at the foul line. Cam Tirado and Antonio Tirado each finished with 12. Cam Tirado knocked down two triples and went 2-for-2 at the line, while Antonio Tirado hit one three and went 3-for-4 from the stripe.

Hershey 88, Lebanon 70
Monday night, the Cedars traveled to Hershey to take on last year’s PIAA State runner-up, a Trojans group that entered the night at 13-1.
Hershey came out sharp and built an early edge, taking a 20-13 lead by the end of the 1st quarter behind balanced scoring. Lebanon stayed within striking distance early thanks to a pair of three-pointers from Noriah Jones, along with another triple from Manny Martinez.
The Trojans turned up the pressure in the 2nd quarter, pouring in 27 points to take a 47-28 lead into halftime. Grant Later spearheaded the surge with 12 points in the frame, including three three-pointers. Lebanon attempted to answer behind Martinez, who scored 7 points in the quarter.
Coming out of the break, the two teams traded buckets, with Hershey narrowly taking the 3rd quarter 27-25 to carry a 74-53 advantage into the final eight minutes. Cam Sweeney did much of the damage in the quarter, while Lebanon got a big response from Daryan Rodriguez, who knocked down three three-pointers, and Derek Franco, who continued to attack offensively.
In the 4th, Hershey’s steady free-throw shooting helped close the door on any comeback hopes, especially as Martinezand Franco fouled out down the stretch. More notably, Franco picked up his second technical foul of the game, likely making him ineligible for Thursday’s matchup with Cedar Crest.
Franco led Lebanon with 22 points, while Jones added 17. Rodriguez and Martinez finished with 12 apiece. Jones and Rodriguez each connected on four three-pointers in the loss.
Hershey was led by Cam Sweeney, who finished with 32 points. Grant Later added 19.
