GIRLS BASKETBALL

Northern Lebanon 44, Williams Valley 18 – At the Wells Fargo Center on Friday afternoon, the Lady Vikings stormed past the other Lady Vikings. Hayley Sheroky scored 13 points, hitting two threes from the NBA line. Olivia Shutter had 10 points, while Saoirse Phillips had 8. In total, nine NL players registered points on the 76ers’ home court. Northern Lebanon (11-2) will be back in a much smaller gym when they travel to Manheim Central on Wednesday.

Lebanon 51, Manheim Township 22 – The Cedars were already up by eight at halftime before holding the Streaks scoreless in the 3rd quarter to completely break away for the victory. Olive Brandt hit a trio of threes on her way to a game-high 19 points. Also in double figures were Kailah Correa with 14 & Lili Harrison. Earlier in the day, Harrison received her first official D1 offer from Delaware State. Lebanon (10-3) will host McCaskey on Monday.

Cedar Crest 48, Penn Manor 35 – On Youth Night in “The Cage”, the Lady Falcons overwhelmed the visiting Comets. The winning effort was led by Kaila Francis, who scored 19 points, including going 5-6 from the free throw line. Ali Groff also worked her way into double-digit scoring with 10 points, including successfully connecting on two three-balls. Cedar Crest (8-5) will travel to Hempfield on Monday.

Our Lady of the Cross 48, York Country Day 26 – Riley Hatzfeld led the winning effort with 25 points, including three three-pointers & a perfect 4-4 from the foul line. Sarah Ventura also contributed 11 points. OLC (2-3) will host Harrisburg Christian on Tuesday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lebanon 62, Manheim Township 52 – Riding a 21-6 at the end of the 1st quarter, the Cedars pushed their way for the wire-to-wire victory over the visiting Blue Streaks. Derek Franco led the way with 19 points, and Manny Martinez scored 17, including three three-pointers. Ihab Abdallaoui was also in double figures for the Cedars, scoring 14. On Monday night, Lebanon (6-9) will travel to McCaskey seeking the season sweep.

Lancaster Mennonite 68, Annville-Cleona 45 – Elisha Slabach scored 17 for the Dutchmen. He is now just 4 points away from 1,000. Annville-Cleona (8-4) will host Northern Lebanon on Monday night.

Dayspring Christian 86, New Covenant 55 – For the Flames, Alex Hart had 12 points & 15 rebounds. Talan Vanderploog & Grayden Summers each tallied 11 points. New Covenant (6-6) will host High Point on Monday.

Northern Lebanon 33, Williams Valley 33 – Playing at Wells Fargo, the game was in a stalemate at the end of regulation. Crews then needed to set-up fro the Sixers-Pelicans game that was set to start later in the evening. Therefore, the game was suspended with the two teams tied & will be resumed at a later date.

 

 

Thursday, January 9

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Palmyra 44, Hershey 25 – Addi Salus led the Lady Cougars to victory as they moved to .500 on the season. Palmyra (5-5) will host Cedar Cliff next Wednesday.

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

Hershey 54, Palmyra 49 – The Cougars fell just short in their upset bid of Hershey. In the game, Luke Grumbine scored a team-high 12 points. Alex Dorta & Micah Warner each scored 10. As a team, the Cougars hit 9 three pointers. Hershey’s Cameron Sweeney scored 20 points as the Trojans moved to 10-0. Palmyra (5-7) will travel to Cedar Cliff next Wednesday.

 

 

WRESTLING 

Girls

Hempfield 54, Lebanon 18 – Katrina Leary & Isabella Poole Martinez won contested matches for the Cedars.

ELCO 52, Cedar Crest 24

Boys

Ephrata 62, Cedar Crest 6 – Caleb Uhler was the lone winner for the Falcons, taking the victory via a pin at 127 pounds.

Annville-Cleona 71,  Octorara 6 – Aedan Castka, Oliver Funck, Devon Englehart, Blaine Leitz, Jordan Nickens, Kadavin Ginting, & Maddox White each won contested matches for the Dutchmen.

 

BOWLING

Elizabethtown 7, Lebanon 0 – Camron Buchmoyer led the Cedars with a 231 high game & a 594 series.

Columbia 7, ELCO 0 – Liam Savitsky was had a team-high 211 game for the Raiders.

 

 

Wednesday, January 8

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lebanon 46, Hempfield 38 – Despite trailing by four heading into the 4th, the Cedars roared backed to take the Section 1 matchup over the Black Knights. Liliana Harrison led with 19 points, going 5-7 from the foul line. Olive Brandt scored 11, while Kailah Correa registered 10, including 7 points in the final quarter. Lebanon (9-3) is set to travel to Manheim Township on Friday evening.

Northern Lebanon 45, Lampeter-Strasburg 29 – The Lady Vikings picked up their 10th win of the season in the victory over LS. Kasey Weimer led the way, pouring in 18 points (9-15 FT). Olivia Shutter joined Weimer in double digits, scoring 17 points (6-7 FT). Northern Lebanon (10-2) will play Williams Valley on Friday at the Wells Fargo Center.

Annville-Cleona 64, Our Lady of the Cross 45 – Kendall Cooper had the hot hand in the 1st quarter, scoring 14 for the Dutchmen on her way to finishing the game with 34 points. Audrey Sider joined Cooper in double figures, scoring 13. Our Lady’s Riley Hatzfeld was the game’s high scorer finishing the game with 36 points, consisting of three three-pointers and going 3-3 on free throws. Annville-Cleona (8-5) will travel to Octorara on Monday. Our Lady (1-3) will host York Country Day on Friday.

Cedar Crest 41, Manheim Township 32 – Kaila Francis & Elli Malinoski each tallied 13 points in leading the Lady Falcons to the home victory over the Streaks. Cedar Crest (7-5) will be seeking their fourth straight win when they host Penn Manor on Friday.

 

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

Annville-Cleona 62, Tulpehocken 48 – Elisha Slabach scored 34 points to lead the Dutchmen to victory. The senior, now 21 points from 1k, hit two three pointers and was 8-10 from the charity stripe. Jon Shay contributed 11 points, while Anthony Pena scored 10. Next up, Annville-Cleona (8-3) will travel to Lancaster Mennonite on Friday.

Lebanon 44, Hempfield 40 – The Cedars went on the road and found a victory after holding the Black Knights to just 9 points in the 1st half. Lebanon was led in a balanced scoring effort by freshman Derek Franco who finished the game with 12 points (5-7 FT). As a team, the Cedars went 14-16 from the foul line. Lebanon (5-9) will host Manheim Township on Friday.

Boys

Cedar Cliff 33, ELCO 32 – Ashton Kriss, Klint Miller, Brinley Donmoyer, & Kyle Miller each won contested matches for the Raiders as they dropped a thrilling non-league match-up against the Colts.

Hershey 39, Palmyra 33 – Elijah Foltz, Grayson Cisney, Nicolas Gordon, & Tyler Detwiler each won contested matches in the close loss to rival Hershey.

 

 

 

Tuesday, January 7

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Northern Lebanon 54, ELCO 44 – Trailing 15-12 at the end of the 1st quarter, the Lady Vikings overcame ELCO’s challenge to win the match-up between two of the county’s premiere teams. For NL, it was a balanced scoring attack that helped them put up 54 points, led by Kasey Weimer with 14, Hayley Sheroky with 12, & Saoirse Phillips with 11. Olivia Shutter finished with 9 points, 6 of which came in the 4th. For the Lady Raiders, Kenzie Eckhart scored 20, while Maddie Stout had 19.
