Youth Football Weekly Round-Up: November 16, 2023

This feature recaps last weekend’s action from the youth football organizations that chose to partner with LebCoSports.com.  Much of the reporting below is written by the dedicated volunteers within these organizations.

There was only one game played this past weekend with the Falcon “C” Team battling in the playoffs.  As part of this week’s update, we also have published the roster of the Myerstown Panther Midgets, a team that won the BAYFL championship last week.

This weekly roundup will finish our coverage of Lebanon County youth football for the 2023 season.  We hope that you enjoyed reading about the high school stars of tomorrow.

Red Rose Playoffs – 2nd Round

C (10-1)    Lampeter Strasburg 31, Cedar Crest 8

After defeating Ephrata in the 1st round of the Red Rose League Playoffs, the Falcon “C” Team traveled on Saturday to take on Lampeter-Strasburg.  There is no doubt that Lampeter is a tough program, as reflected by the success of their high school program year after year . . . they’ll play McDevitt this week in the 4A District 3 Semifinals.  Early in the game, the Falcons nabbed an 8-6 lead resulting from a touchdown pass from Tate Speraw to Torrence Hubbard.  The pair then connected on a successful two-point conversion.  The Falcon offense would put together several good drives throughout the contest.  Unfortunately, they would be unable to find the end zone again.  Lampeter’s quarterback/defensive back was the difference maker, accounting for five touchdowns: 3 rushing, kickoff return, INT – pick six.  The game ended with the Falcons on the wrong side of the 31-8 score.

Though the loss ended the season for the Falcons, it does not diminish what this group accomplished on their way to a 10-1 record after finishing the regular season as Division Champions with a 9-0.

Up Next: Be on the lookout for several of these Falcons playing on Friday nights in just a few short years.
