Falcons Make Every Free Throw Count

When members of the Cedar Crest girls’ basketball team step to the free throw line, they’re money – both figuratively and literally.

Recently, the Falcons raised $2,300 through their annual fundraiser ‘Foul Shots for Charity’ program. The fundraiser involves players in grades seven through 12 shooting 500 free throws during and after practices in order to gather monies for a designated local charity.

This season, Cedar Crest chose the Ronald McDonald House of Central Pennsylvania, which is located in Hershey, as its benefactor.

The Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing for members of out-of-town families who have seriously ill children being treated at Penn State-Hershey Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital. Donations allow families an opportunity to stay at the Ronald McDonald House free of charge.
