Lebanon Continues Growth Against McCaskey

Monday’s trip to McCaskey offered Lebanon another look at the level it is chasing in Section action, as the Cedars faced one of the league’s perennial track and field powerhouses on the road.

While the final team scores favored the Red Tornado, Lebanon continued to show signs of progress against strong competition. McCaskey claimed the girls meet, 108-42, and the boys meet, 109-40, but the Cedars still produced several notable individual performances and flashed some postseason potential along the way.

Lebanon’s girls were paced by some strong efforts in the jumps and throws, with Cayleigh Shaak turning in one of the team’s top performances of the day. Shaak won the long jump at 16’0″ and also added a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a mark of 31’3″.

In the field events, Nina Lampkin placed second in the shot put at 28’2″, while Natalina Harrison finished second in the high jump by clearing 4’10”. Olive Brandt also came through with a runner-up finish in the 300m hurdles, posting a time of 55.2.
