Northern Lebanon Boys Top Donegal, Girls Battle Hard in Home Dual
After competing Friday night at the Herb Schmidt Relays, Northern Lebanon was back in action on Monday at home against Donegal. The Viking Boys earning an 82-58 victory while the Girls dropped an 84-66 decision. The boys leaned on their distance group, throws, and jumps to take control of the meet, while the girls turned in a number of strong individual performances and event wins against a deep Donegal lineup.
Girls Recap: Donegal 84, Northern Lebanon 66
The Northern Lebanon girls stayed competitive throughout the meet and came away with several standout efforts across both the track and field. Joby Long led the way with a win in the 100m hurdles and another first-place finish in the pole vault, while Ella Carpenter gave the Vikings a victory in the 300m hurdles.
Northern Lebanon also found success in the distance and field events. Elsie Shuey won the 800m in a tight race, Mackenzie Miller captured the triple jump, and Katy Light added a win in the javelin. The Vikings also swept the top three spots in the high jump, with Saoirse Phillips, Hope Shaffer, and Emma Yordy going 1-2-3.
Donegal’s depth on the track proved to be the difference in the team score. The Indians picked up wins in both relays, the 100m, 200m, 400m, 1600m, and 3200m, while also getting big points in the throws and long jump. Shaker was especially productive, factoring into wins in the 400m and long jump while also taking second in the 100m dash.

Donegal had some big moments of its own, especially in the sprints and hurdles.
