Palmyra Boys Basketball Season Outlook

The Palmyra Cougars enter the 2025–26 season as a senior-oriented squad poised to contend in one of the toughest schedules in 5A District III. Last year, the team faced the most challenging slate in recent memory and became one of the toughest draws in the district, earning marquee wins over Hershey and Warwick. The experience gained by many returners will be crucial as they look to improve on a 9–13 record that fell just short of postseason qualification.

Leading the roster are seniors Braydon Bown (10.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg), Micah Warner (8.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg), Luke Grumbein(4.8 ppg, 1.8 spg), and Tommy Steelman (2.1 ppg), who provide scoring, rebounding, defense, and veteran leadership. Junior returners Brady Kyper (3.1 ppg) and Luke Johnson (5’8” guard) offer depth and versatility in the backcourt.

Rising contributors Jackson Bowman, Kayden Bucy, and Julian Meley are expected to make an immediate impact. Meley, who hasn’t played since 9th grade, brings athleticism and multi-sport experience as a former all-league soccer goalie and PSU Harrisburg baseball commit.

The Cougars face another challenging schedule this year, including the Keystone Division, non-league matchups, the Cedar Crest Holiday Tournament, and tough opponents such as Pottsville, Warwick, Penn Manor, ELCO, and Exeter.

With a senior-heavy lineup and experience navigating a demanding schedule, Palmyra is focused on growth, consistency, and pushing for a return to the playoffs.
