Mid Penn Championships

On Saturday, the Mid Penn Cross Country Championships took place at Big Spring High School. The meet, which also serves as a qualifier for the District 3 Championship Meet, featured strong performances from Palmyra’s runners.
The Palmyra boys were led by senior Cornelius Cummings, who finished 9th overall in a time of 16:11.09. Fellow senior Joshua Miller followed in 23rd place with a time of 16:38.61. These performances helped the Cougars secure a 7th place team finish. The boys race was won by Carter Smith of Mifflin County, who crossed the line in 15:30.81.
On the girls side, juniors Leah Senft and Amber McCurdy finished back-to-back in 44th and 45th place with times of 21:12.81 and 21:14.65, respectively. These efforts helped the girls team to an 11th place finish. The girls race was won by Ana Bondy of Carlisle with a time of 18:40.52.
The Palmyra Boys and Girls Teams qualified for the District 3 Championship Meet, which will take place on Saturday, October 25th, when the Mid Penn qualifiers will once again compete on the Big Spring High School course.
