Gavin Yeiser

During ELCO’s Week 6 game on September 26th, during, sophomore Gavin Yeiser made his mark under the Homecoming lights, powering the Raiders to a 44–28 win over Daniel Boone. The explosive running back rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries, breaking free for big gains that energized the home crowd and lifted his team to a much-needed victory. His breakout performance helped the Raiders to their second win of the season and earned him recognition as this week’s LebCoSports.com Athlete of the Week.

Head Coach Bob Miller praised Yeiser’s performance and his development as a young leader, saying, “Gavin is an outstanding, versatile, all-around football player and terrific leader. He showed flashes last season as a freshman that he was going to be a player to watch in the coming years. This game was a look at things to come.”

That prediction quickly proved true. In Week 7, Yeiser once again delivered in a pressure moment, this time helping ELCO rally for a thrilling comeback win over Lancaster Catholic. With eight minutes left to play, the sophomore powered into the end zone for the tying touchdown, setting up the Raiders’ late surge to victory. His consistency and ability to rise to the occasion have already made him a cornerstone of ELCO’s offense.

For Yeiser, success starts with team effort and accountability. “As a team we all executed and overcame adversity which led to a great team win,” he said. “I work hard in my role, support my teammates, and always put my team before me.”

That team-first mindset aligns with his goals for the season — to do whatever it takes to help the Raiders grow stronger together. It’s that same selfless approach that has earned him the respect of his teammates and coaches alike.

Yeiser credits his family, trainer Darryl Daniel, his coaches, and his teammates for their support and guidance in his development. When he’s not training, he enjoys fishing and spending time with friends and family.

Looking ahead, Yeiser hopes to play football at the collegiate level and pursue a career as an entrepreneur. With his mix of athleticism, maturity, and drive, he’s already showing signs of a bright future.

Congratulations to Gavin, and best of luck to him and the Raiders as they continue their push toward the postseason.
