Landyn Kline

Cedar Crest senior Landyn Kline showcased why he is one of Lebanon County’s premier linebackers during the Falcons’ dominant 40-15 victory over Penn Manor on Friday, September 12. Kline led the defense with 11 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 1 interception, helping Cedar Crest force six turnovers in the win. His standout performance earned him recognition as LebCoSports.com Athlete of the Week.
“My personal goals are to have a better statistical season than last year and to break the school tackles-for-loss record,” Kline said. On the field, he works to inspire his teammates and provide leadership, a role he takes seriously. “I’ve fit in really well providing leadership to the team to help us succeed,” he added.
That leadership has been on full display across Cedar Crest’s first five games, where Kline has anchored the Falcons’ defense, recording 60 tackles (15 solo), 11 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 1 interception. His physical presence and playmaking ability have helped stabilize the defense and provide confidence in key moments.
Kline’s football journey has been marked by previous accolades and a commitment to improvement. The Lebanon County Defensive Player of the Year last season, he has continued to build on that success while earning the trust of his coaches and teammates. “I would like to thank my family for always believing in me and my coaches for giving me a chance and trusting me to play on Friday nights,” he said. His play at the varsity level has become a cornerstone of the Falcons’ defensive identity.

Off the field, Kline stays active by wrestling in the offseason, while also enjoying time with his girlfriend and relaxing with video games. Looking ahead, he plans to continue playing football at the collegiate level while pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy.
For Kline, the appeal of sports extends beyond stats and accolades. “I enjoy the team aspect and building that brotherhood with your teammates,” he said. “There’s nothing like your four years in high school playing sports because of how much fun it is and all of the friendships you make.”
With his skill, leadership, and determination, Landyn Kline has become a driving force on the Cedar Crest defense. We congratulate him on being named Athlete of the Week and wish him and the Falcons the best of luck as they continue their pursuit of a successful season, beginning with Reading this Friday.
