Cedar Crest Celebrates Senior Night with Sweep of Penn Manor
With a steady breeze and typical early-spring conditions hanging over the facility on Tuesday, Cedar Crest and Penn Manor met in Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 track and field action. The meet also served as Senior Night for the Falcons.
By the end of it, Cedar Crest came away with a sweep, as the Falcon girls earned an 86-63 victory to improve to 2-1, while the Cedar Crest boys rolled to a 116-34 win to remain unbeaten at 3-0.
Girls Recap: Cedar Crest 86, Penn Manor 63
Cedar Crest’s girls put together a balanced effort across the track, relays, and field events to secure the team victory. Miley Bowers led the way in the sprints, winning both the 100m and 200m, while Ellie Schneider turned in one of the Falcons’ top all-around performances by winning the high jump and javelin.
The Falcons also got individual wins from Sophie Meli in the 1600m, Emma Kline in the 400m, Ryan Stopper in the long jump, Layla Herbein in the triple jump, and Jesslyn Risser in the pole vault. Cedar Crest added relay victories in the 4x800m, 4x100m, and 4x400m to keep stacking points throughout the afternoon.
Cedar Crest also got key scoring efforts from Carly Atkins, Clara Schneider, Mikalyn Weaber, Jordan Frip, and Olivia Cuthie, while the Falcons’ depth helped them create the separation they needed in the team score.
Penn Manor still got a big day from Adara Morris, who swept both the shot put and discus. The Comets also picked up wins from Rummelman in the 100m hurdles, Bringleman in the 300m hurdles, Rae Sandt in the 800m, and Carly Wise in the 3200m.

Cedar Crest’s boys controlled the meet with another balanced performance that featured wins in the sprints, distance events, relays, hurdles, and field events. Landen Weaber led the way with a pair of victories in the 100m and 200m, while Bryce Wampler added another 1st-place finish in the 400m.
The Falcons also got a strong day from their distance group. Hayden Snavely won the 1600m, Shawn Alexander took the 800m, and Zach Margut captured the 3200m. Cedar Crest also swept all three scoring spots in the 1600m, 800m, and 3200m, showing the kind of depth that helped the Falcons pull away in the team score.
Cedar Crest also did significant damage in the field events. Andy Appiah won the long jump, Max Fleischer took the triple jump, and Yedinak Cepeda claimed the pole vault. The Falcons also won the 4x800m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relays, while Justin Moreno added a victory in the 300m hurdles and Cedar Crest continued to pile up points across the board.
Penn Manor got a big individual day from Elijah Hess, who swept the shot put and javelin. The Comets also got wins from Ethan Kloppmann in the high jump and Deder in the discus, but Cedar Crest’s depth and balance were too much to overcome.
