Northern Lebanon Sweeps Tightly Contested Section 3 Opener at Annville-Cleona
The first action of the 2026 track & field season took place Monday, when Northern Lebanon visited Annville-Cleona for a Section 3 matchup. Both the boys and girls meets were tightly contested throughout the afternoon, but the Vikings did enough in each to come away with a sweep.
Girls Recap: Northern Lebanon 82, Annville-Cleona 67
Northern Lebanon’s girls were powered by several top contributors across the track and field events in a meet that stayed competitive from start to finish. Selah Martino was a double-winner for the Vikings, taking 1st place in both the 100m dash and 200m dash, while Toby Long won the 100m hurdles and also added a 2nd-place finish in the 300m hurdles. Elsie Shuey picked up a 1st-place finish in the 800m, and Northern Lebanon also claimed 1st place in both the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.
In the field, Saoirse Phillips won the high jump and Mackenzie Miller captured 1st place in the triple jump while also finishing 3rd in the long jump. Northern Lebanon also showed its depth in the throwing events, where Sara Feagley won the discus, Emily Weimer finished 2nd, and Mariah Kipp added a 3rd-place finish. Kipp also took 2nd place in the shot put to give the Vikings another important scoring boost.
Annville-Cleona kept the girls meet close behind a number of strong individual efforts. Mackenzie Stellmach won both the 1600m and 3200m. Caitlin Shay added 1st-place finishes in the 300m hurdles and pole vault, while Teige Christiansen claimed 1st place in the 400m dash. In the field events, Madison Long won the long jump and also finished 2nd in the triple jump, Georgia Sellers contributed 2nd-place points in the long jump and 3rd-place finishes in both the 100m and 200m, and Lillian Manwiller earned 1st place in the shot put and 2nd place in the javelin.

The boys meet was also closely contested, with Northern Lebanon using balance and depth to separate itself over the course of the afternoon. Ty Martin won the 110m hurdles, while Brody Ryan captured the 100m dash. Tucker Reiberadded a 1st-place finish in the 400m, Luke Hentz won the 800m, Luke Mentz took 1st place in the 1600m, and Thad Raub finished 1st in the 3200m. The Vikings also won the 4x100m relay.
Northern Lebanon also found big points in the field events. Cody Leedy won the long jump and added a 3rd-place finish in the 200m, while Jason Bishop won the triple jump and tied for 2nd place in the high jump. Evan Snyder gave the Vikings a pair of 2nd-place finishes in the triple jump and pole vault, and Connor Troxell placed 2nd in both the discus and shot put. The Vikings also got another strong day from Trevor Camaste, who won the 300m hurdles and finished 2nd in the 110m hurdles.
Annville-Cleona stayed within striking distance thanks to a number of strong performances. Jon Moran won the 200m dash, while Levi Custer captured the high jump. Luke Tshudy finished 1st in the pole vault, Luke Wentling won the javelin, Dominic Wentling took 1st in the discus, and Jaxon Speece claimed the shot put. On the track, David Moranwas one of the Little Dutchmen’s top contributors, placing 2nd in both the 1600m and 800m, while Bode Garney added a 2nd-place finish in the 400m. Annville-Cleona also picked up relay wins in the boys 4x800m relay and 4x400m relay.

What’s Next?
Northern Lebanon will be back in action on Friday at the Herb Schmidt Relays hosted by York Suburban. Annville-Cleona is scheduled to return to the track Thursday for a road dual meet at Susquenita.
