Boys wrestling’s postseason push was in full swing on Saturday, February 14, 2026, as the Road to Hershey officially began with sectional championship weekend — and with Lebanon County’s programs split across multiple sites, there was plenty at stake from the opening whistle.

On the AA side, Annville-Cleona and Northern Lebanon competed at Central Dauphin East for District 3 AA Section 2. The tournament featured a bracket of 16 with full wrestlebacks, wrestled to 8 places, with the top 6 advancing.

For AAA, the county was represented in two different sectionals. Cedar Crest, ELCO, and Lebanon wrestled at Governor Mifflin Intermediate in District 3 AAA Section 1, while Palmyra traveled to Hempfield for District 3 AAA Section 2. AAA wrestled to 6 places, with the top 4 advancing to Regionals.

When it was all added up, Lebanon County wrestlers delivered a big day across both classifications: 7 LebCo athletes won titles, 44 reached the podium, and 34 wrestlers extended their seasons — with 18 AA qualifiers advancing to Districts and 16 AAA qualifiers moving on to the South Central Regional Championships.

AA

Northern Lebanon led the AA charge with a deep tournament that helped the Vikings finish 3rd out of 15 teams. The day was punctuated by two champions — and one of them added another milestone to an already decorated run.

Sam Wolford, a senior committed to the United States Naval Academy, continued his postseason reign by claiming his third straight Section title, doing it this time at 121-pounds after winning at 107-pounds and 114-pounds the past two seasons. Wolford tore through the bracket with bonus points and capped the run with a 16-0 tech in the finals. Northern Lebanon’s second champion, Connor Troxell, powered his way to gold at 215-pounds after a quarterfinal pin and a 2-0 semifinal decision. In all, Northern Lebanon pushed 10 wrestlers into the top six to qualify for Districts.

Annville-Cleona also turned in a strong team performance, placing 5th out of 15 behind a balanced lineup that consistently cashed in on the back side. The Dutchmen were led by two third-place finishers — Devon Englehart at 133-pounds and Blaine Leitz at 189-pounds — and stacked multiple additional top-four results to send eight wrestlers on to Districts.

AAA

Palmyra put together the signature team result of the day on the AAA side, storming to the Section 2 team championship with a 1st-place finish out of 15 teams. The Cougars were fueled by two champions — Elijah Foltz at 107-pounds and Aaron Andrew at 160-pounds — and a wave of finalists and medalists that packed the top four across the weights. Palmyra advanced 10 wrestlers to Regionals, including runner-up finishes from Russell Cisney at 114-pounds, Grayson Cisney at 121-pounds, and Tyler Detwiler at 139-pounds, plus key third- and fourth-place finishes that kept the team points pouring in all day.

At Governor Mifflin, ELCO delivered one of the most title-heavy performances in the event, placing 3rd out of 16 teams and producing three champions: Kane Kline at 127-pounds, Ashton Kriss at 133-pounds, and Klint Miller at 160-pounds. Miller added a historic note of his own as a three-time Section champion — and the fact that he’s only a junior makes that postseason résumé even more impressive. The Raiders also advanced Aleric Raihl, who reached the finals at 121-pounds, along with Brinley Donmoyer at 189-pounds, sending five on to Regionals and firmly establishing themselves as one of the weekend’s top lineups.

Cedar Crest and Lebanon also landed key podium finishes at the same AAA Section 1 tournament. Cedar Crest placed 11th out of 16 behind Landyn Kline, who reached the finals at 189-pounds and finished runner-up to secure the Falcons’ top advancement. Lebanon placed 13th, highlighted by Erick Rivera Garcia earning 5th at 133-pounds after a strong run that included early bonus points and a closing pin in the medal round.

What’s next?

Now the road splits clearly by classification.

AA wrestlers will be back in action on Saturday, February 21st at the District 3 Championships, hosted by Central Dauphin East High School.

AAA wrestlers return for Regional Championship weekend, as the AAA South Central Regionals will be held at Spring Grove High School beginning February 20th.

Below are team-by-team recaps from Saturday’s action.

Annville-Cleona’s day was built on depth, with the Dutchmen stacking podium finishes in a bracket of 16 that wrestled to eight places and sent the top six on to Districts. Team Finish: 3rd

Northern Lebanon’s third-place team finish was powered by a pair of champions — and the paths they took were as emphatic as you’ll find in a postseason setting.

At 121-pounds, Sam Wolford, a senior committed to the United States Naval Academy, continued his postseason reign by claiming a third straight Section title after winning at 107-pounds and 114-pounds the past two seasons. Wolford capped the run with a 16-0 technical fall in the finals. The Vikings’ second title came at 215-pounds, where Connor Troxell scored a quarterfinal pin in 0:50, then won a tight 2-0 decision in the semifinals to reach the championship bout and finish the job to stand atop the podium.

Northern Lebanon’s qualifiers were everywhere in the lineup. Team Finish: 11th

Cedar Crest’s best push came at 189-pounds, where Landyn Kline put together the type of run that anchored the Falcons’ day. After advancing in the opening round, Kline delivered a 1:05 pin in the quarterfinals, followed it with an 11-3 major decision in the semifinals, and carried that momentum into the championship match to finish runner-up — the Falcons’ highest placement of the tournament and their lone automatic qualifier in AAA.

The Falcons also added two more medalists to the team score. At 107-pounds, Sabriel Remlinger responded after an early loss by battling back through the consolation side, highlighted by a 20-4 technical fall in Consolation Round 3, before finishing 6th. At 145-pounds, Nolan Brubaker fought his way into the medal round with a key pin in Consolation Round 2, then added a 5-2 decision in the next round to reach the placing matches and finish 6th.

Team Finish: 3rd

ELCO’s third-place team finish was fueled by a championship trio that kept the Raiders in the thick of the team race from start to finish.

At 160-pounds, Klint Miller added another milestone, capturing his third Section title — and doing it as a junior. Milleropened with a 0:43 pin in the quarterfinals, followed with a 16-1 technical fall in the semifinals, and then closed with a 10-3 decision in the championship match.

ELCO also crowned a champion at 127-pounds with Kane Kline, who pinned his quarterfinal opponent in 0:58, then won the semifinals by technical fall before finishing the title run with a 15-2 major decision in the finals. At 133-pounds, Ashton Kriss needed only nine seconds to win his quarterfinal, added a 1:12 pin in the semifinals, and then held off a tight final with a 10-8 decision to secure the championship.

Those titles were complemented by more advancement points. Aleric Raihl reached the finals at 121-pounds after a 15-0 technical fall in the quarters and a 4-0 semifinal win, while Brinley Donmoyer worked back into the top four at 189-pounds. With AAA sending the top four on, ELCO’s next-round group included Raihl, Kane Kline, Kriss, Miller, and Donmoyer.

ELCO also added three more medalists who contributed to that third-place team finish. At 139-pounds, Bain Blauchbattled back to place 5th, while Cody Landis added a 5th-place finish at 285-pounds after reaching the semifinal round earlier in the day. At 172-pounds, Avery Shenk worked through a demanding bracket to finish 6th.

District 3 AAA Section 1 — Governor Mifflin Intermediate School

Team Finish: 13th

Lebanon’s biggest result came at 133-pounds, where Erick Rivera Garcia put together a strong medal run and finished fifth. Rivera Garcia opened with an 18-1 technical fall, then advanced with a quarterfinal pin to reach the late rounds. After a setback in the semifinals, he regrouped and closed the tournament with a pin in the fifth-place bout to lock in Lebanon’s top finish.

In AAA, only the top four advance, and Lebanon’s medal run finished just short of that line, meaning the Cedars did not have an automatic qualifier out of this event.

District 3 – Section 2 Champions

District 3 AAA Section 2 — Hempfield High School

Team Finish: 1st

Palmyra’s Section 2 team title was built on two champions and a wave of finalists and top-four finishes that created separation as the day went on.

At 107-pounds, Elijah Foltz set the tone with a dominant run. He needed only 0:27 in the quarterfinals, pinned again in 1:17 in the semifinals, then sealed the championship with a 7-3 decision in the finals.

At 160-pounds, Aaron Andrew delivered Palmyra’s second title with a complete tournament. Andrew opened with a 5-1 quarterfinal decision, pinned his semifinal opponent in 3:54, and then closed the championship match with a 5-0 decision to stand atop the podium.

With AAA sending the top four on to the South Central Regional Championships, Palmyra’s next-round group included Foltz at 107-pounds, Russell Cisney at 114-pounds, Grayson Cisney at 121-pounds, Nicolas Gordon at 127-pounds, Owen Clark at 133-pounds, Tyler Detwiler at 139-pounds, Nicholas Weidman at 145-pounds, Evan Andrew at 152-pounds, Aaron Andrew at 160-pounds, and Kenneth Coles at 215-pounds — the kind of qualifier list that wins team trophies.

Palmyra also had medalists who fell short of the automatic qualifying line but still helped shape the team title run. Owen Clark finished 4th at 133-pounds after pinning his way back into the placing rounds, Nicolas Gordon placed 4th at 127-pounds after a tight 11-10 decision in the third-place match, and Kenneth Coles battled through to a 4th-place finish at 215-pounds after reaching the late rounds.

A special shoutout to Detwiler, who notched his 100th career victory on his way to his silver medal finish.
