On Friday and Saturday, the Lancaster Lebanon League held the 2026 Boys Wrestling Championships at Manheim Township High School. When all of the brackets were complete, LebCo wrestlers had won 16 medals with two golds, six silvers, and four bronze medals leading the way. This event started what hopes to be an exciting postseason that will finish at the Giant Center in March.

Leading the way was Northern Lebanon’s Samuel Wolford, who continued to set the standard in league competition by capturing the 121-pound championship — his third straight LL League title — while also being named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the meet. The senior went 4-0 on the weekend, and did it with authority: all four wins came via tech fall, and none of his matches made it beyond the first period. He capped the run by tech-falling ELCO’s Aleric Raihl in the finals, and also celebrated his 175th career victory during the tournament. Northern Lebanon added another big finish at 215, where Connor Troxell battled his way to a runner-up showing, while Sam’s brother Carter Wolford closed the weekend with a 3rd-place finish at 107-pounds.

ELCO also left Manheim Township with a champion, as Ashton Kriss delivered a signature weekend to win the 133-pound title. The senior went 4-0 to earn his first league championship, while also giving ELCO its first individual LL League title since 2016. Kriss’s run included two pins, followed by two major decisions — punctuated by a 15-3 victory over McCaskey’s Desias Rodriguez in the finals. Behind Kriss and a deep group of placers, ELCO finished runner-up in the team standings, coming up just 1.5 points behind Donegal for the league championship. Other ELCO headliners included Aleric Raihl (2nd – 121), Kane Kline (2nd – 127), Klint Miller (2nd – 172), and Brinley Donmoyer (2nd – 189), while Cody Landis added a strong showing (4th – 285) and Bain Blauch placed (6th – 139).

Beyond the champions and finalists, several other LebCo wrestlers brought home top finishes across the brackets. Annville-Cleona was paced by a pair of bronze medalists in Oliver Funck (3rd – 139) and Jaxon Speece (3rd – 285), while Blaine Leitz added a (4th – 189) finish and Devon Englehart took (5th – 133). Northern Lebanon added more depth with placers in Sincere Perez (6th – 152), Markus Yurkonis (7th – 145), Michael Tavani (8th – 114), and Jayce Fellin(8th – 172). Lebanon also came away with a medalist, as Erick Rivera Garcia finished (7th – 133), while Cedar Crest had two wrestlers reach the podium with Sabriel Remlinger (8th – 107) and Nolan Brubaker (8th – 145).

With a pair of champions, a stack of finalists, and 16 total medals across the board, LebCo wrestlers will now shift their focus to the next stage of the postseason — with momentum building toward several of them making a strong to climbing the podium in Hershey.

Annville-Cleona’s weekend had real substance behind the medal count, with several runs that featured statement wins and a lot of bonus points along the way. At heavyweight, Jaxon Speece also made a deep push, notching a key tiebreaker win over ELCO’s Cody Landis in the quarters, then rebounding to close his tournament with pins in the back side before sealing 3rd place with a tight 1-0 decision.

In the middle weights, Blaine Leitz produced a strong run highlighted by three pins — including quick falls over Lebanon’s Derryck Brickle and Columbia’s Bobby Reese Jr. — before landing in 4th at 189. Cedar Crest’s placers had some real highlights behind the final positions, especially at the lightest weights. Sabriel Remlinger came out flying at 107, opening the tournament with two quick pins — a 0:38 fall in Championship Round 1 and another pin in Round 2 — before running into eventual placer Carter Wolford in the quarterfinals. From there, Remlinger responded with another lightning-fast pin in the consolations (0:39) to keep himself alive before ultimately landing in 8th.

At 145, Nolan Brubaker battled through a tough bracket that featured multiple tight matchups. After dropping a decision in the championship side, Brubaker rebounded with a 0:43 pin in the consolations and later picked up a 15-12 decision to stay in the medal hunt before finishing 8th.
