Lancaster Lebanon League Championship Meet

On Tuesday afternoon, the Lancaster Lebanon League Championships returned to South Hills for the third consecutive year, delivering exciting races and standout performances. While Manheim Township came in as the favorite to win the boys race, Cedar Crest had other plans — and they made them count.

Leading the way for the Falcons was Travis Furmanski, who dominated the field with an impressive 15:14.33 to capture first place overall. His performance set the tone for Cedar Crest, propelling the team to a Lancaster Lebanon League Championship with 72 points, out dueling  Manheim Township, who finished with 82 points.

Lebanon County had several standout performances on the boys side. Leading the way after Travis Furmanski (Cedar Crest, 1st – 15:14.33) were Falcon teammates Zachary Margut (13th – 16:25.15), Wyatt Wolfe (14th – 16:25.55), and Anthony Figueroa (18th – 16:33.02), all finishing among the top 20 to secure the team’s league title. Adding depth for the Falcons were Hayden Snavely (26th – 16:45.29) and Henry Wengert (27th – 16:45.41), while James Engle (35th – 17:00.22) and Avery Gatto (47th – 17:13.79) each played a part in delivering the Lancaster Lebanon League Championship for Crest.

Other Lebanon County standouts included Luke Hentz (Northern Lebanon, 20th – 16:34.52), Max Frederick (ELCO, 29th – 16:51.60), and Samuel Hershey (Lebanon, 38th – 17:03.54). Their performances highlighted the county’s depth, showing that strong runners were competing throughout the field and keeping Lebanon County well-represented near the front of the pack.

On the girls side, Annville-Cleona finished 4th overall, while Cedar Crest placed 5th. Among the day’s standout performers was Makenzie Wamsher of Cedar Crest, who finished 3rd overall with an outstanding race, crossing the finish line at 18:17.23. She was joined in the front of the pack by Mackenzie Stellmach (Annville-Cleona, 9th – 18:53.57), Eliana Schneider (Cedar Crest, 12th – 19:19.30), Lucy Stellmach (Annville-Cleona, 13th – 19:32.42), and Leah Tshudy (Annville-Cleona, 27th – 20:19.34). Each of these athletes played a pivotal role in their teams’ solid finishes, helping Annville-Cleona and Cedar Crest secure top-five placements at the Lancaster Lebanon League Championships.

While we are still working to confirm all qualifiers for the District 3 Championship Meet at Big Spring High School on Saturday, October 25th, one thing is certain: several Lebanon County runners will be in attendance, ready to make an impact on the next stage of competition.

Congratulations to all athletes on a fine day of racing. This article will be updated as soon as the full list of District 3 qualifiers is confirmed.
