On Tuesday, the individual competition of the PIAA Golf Championships took place at Penn State. After an exciting first day, several of the five LebCo golfers were in good position for their final 18 holes.
When all was done, the local contingent brought home three medals, with Dylan Ramsey (Cedar Crest) tying for 6th in AAA Boys, Benjamin Allwein (Annville-Cleona) earning 7th in AA Boys, and Bryn Brandt (Cedar Crest) tying for 8th in AAA Girls.
While Ramsey is closing out his storied career before heading to compete for Middle Tennessee State, Allwein and Brandt are just freshmen who have already shown that they have bright futures in the high school ranks.
With the individual competition complete, Cedar Crest will return to the course on Wednesday for the Team Championship Tournament, having received an at-large bid as the team with the lowest score among all District runners-up from across Pennsylvania.
Below is how each local golfer fared in the PIAA State Championship Tournament.

Continuing play on the Penn State Blue Course, Bryn Brandt of Cedar Crest battled through the second round to finish in a tie for 8th place, earning a medal in her first season golfing at the varsity level. The freshman brought home a top-ten finish with a 77 (+5) and a 151 (+7) for the tournament, despite competing in a field of much more experienced golfers.
However, Brandt was not the only local freshman in the field, as Marissa Battistelli of Palmyra was two shots better (87, +15) on Tuesday, finishing tied for 34th overall.
Mya Morgan of Elizabeth Forward won the tournament with a score of -3, finishing four strokes ahead of second place.
