On Monday at Royal Oaks, Annville-Cleona hosted a critical Section 4 match, entering the day tied with Pequea Valley atop the standings with just two events remaining. While the Dutchmen again showcased the top individual talent in the league, Pequea Valley’s depth proved decisive as they took sole possession of first place.
As has been the case all season, Benjamin Allwein and Logan Francis led the way for Annville-Cleona, finishing 1-2 on the leaderboard. Allwein fired a remarkable 3-under 68, while Francis carded an even-par 71. The pair has finished first and second in every match this year, a testament to their consistency and skill.

However, Pequea Valley’s balance was too much to overcome. Behind Max Hershey (78) and a trio of 79s from Josh Stoltzfus, Jackson Long, and Logan Stoltzfus, the Braves posted a team score of 315, outpacing Annville-Cleona’s 329. Rounding out the Dutchmen’s scorers were Aidan Lezon (93), along with Will Kerwin and Luke Cisney who tired at 97.
Other Lebanon County golfers also made their mark. Lebanon’s Trinity Leeper shot a 100 to pace the Cedars, while teammates Jonah Dubbs (113) and Leland Thome (134) gained more varsity experience on a challenging layout.
Annville-Cleona isn’t out of the hunt yet. With one match left—Thursday at Honeybrook—the Dutchmen will look to even the standings and claim a share of the Section 4 crown. To do so, they’ll have to overcome both Pequea Valley’s home-course advantage.
