On Tuesday at Lebanon Country Club, hosted by The Lebanon Cedars, Annville-Cleona faced Pequea Valley in a key Lancaster Lebanon League – Section 4 matchup. The Dutchmen had moved into a tie for the league lead with Pequea after Round 2 and hoped to take the top spot.
Annville-Cleona received strong performances from freshman Benjamin Allwein (73) and senior Logan Francis (74), who both delivered standout rounds and finished as the top two golfers of the day.
Despite the Dutchmen’s early push, Pequea Valley held steady and edged Annville-Cleona to reclaim the league lead. Josh Stoltzfus (78) and Chase Ditzel (80) contributed crucial low rounds, while Logan Stoltzfus (81) and Max Hershey (85) anchored the Pequea total of 324, giving them the day’s top team score.
The Dutchmen, with a team score of 333, were bolstered by Aidan Lezon (92) and Will Kerwin (94), who rounded out the top four counting scores for the team. Cian Soliday (106) and Luke Cisney (110) also posted solid efforts to support the squad.
Lebanon, competing without a full team score, still had noteworthy performances. Jonah Dubbs (109), Trinity Leeper (113), and Leland Thome (122) represented the hosts, showing fight against strong competition.
Other players who finished in the top five not already highlighted included Ben Tomlinson (LC, 82) and Felix Chen (LCD, 83), whose strong rounds helped their teams stay competitive.
With three matches remaining, including a showdown at Royal Oaks—Annville’s home course—the Dutchmen will look to regroup and maintain pressure on Pequea Valley. Annville-Cleona’s next match is September 9th at Crossgates, the home course of Lancaster Mennonite.
