On Saturday night at Warwick High School, the 3rd Annual Warrior Twilight Tune Up 3K Invitational hosted over 40 schools with 493 boys and 354 girls competing in multiple heats. Five LebCo schools participated with Annville-Cleona, Cedar Crest, ELCO, Lebanon, and Northern Lebanon each sending a contingent of athletes. Despite the shorter distance than the typical 5k these athletes will face once the regular season begins, the race provided a first look at how the local racing field may be shaping up for 2025.
Cedar Crest won the Boys’ Team Championship, and Annville-Cleona finished as the girls’ team runner-up only behind Mechanicsburg. The top 30 finishers in each race earned medals, with LebCo’s representatives securing seven pieces of hardware.
Annville-Cleona’s girls’ team led with Mackenzie Stellmach placing 9th (10:47.40) and Lucy Stellmach finishing 15th (11:05.30), contributing to their runner-up team result.
Cedar Crest’s boys’ team secured the championship, led by Travis Furmanski, who won the individual title in 8:43.10. Teammates Zachary Margut (16th, 9:15.90), Anthony Figueroa (19th, 9:18.60), and Luke Snavely (30th, 9:29.30) also medaled.
Cedar Crest’s girls’ team had Eliana Schneider (4th, 10:31.90) and Makenzie Wamsher (5th, 10:32.00) earning top-five medals. Northern Lebanon’s Luke Hentz medaled in the boys’ race, finishing 27th (9:31.60). Annville-Cleona’s boys’ team saw David Moran place 12th (9:11.90) and Oliver Funck finish 20th (9:24.30), adding to the county’s medal count.
