
Lebanon County’s male Track & Field athletes delivered an exceptional level of performance throughout the spring season, making the selection of top contenders in each event incredibly challenging. With so many outstanding competitors, this year’s voting process was among the most fiercely contested in recent memory.
After the votes were tallied, three athletes emerged as unanimous selections: Jacob Burgess in the sprints and his brother Tyler Burgess in the hurdles.
Tyler Burgess not only earned the title of Hurdler of the Year but was also named the 2025 Lebanon County Male Track & Field Athlete of the Year by LebCoSports.com for the second consecutive season. After capturing two gold medals at the PIAA State Championships once again, he solidifies his legacy as one of the greatest athletes in local Track & Field history.
While Burgess was the clear choice for Athlete of the Year, the runners-up deserve significant recognition. Jacob Burgess was honored as Lebanon County’s top Sprinter and Jumper, playing a pivotal role in leading the Palmyra Cougars to the District 3 Team Championship. Meanwhile, Annville-Cleona’s junior standout David Moran also earned high praise for his impressive 800m gold medal performance at the PIAA State Championships.

LebCo Male Track & Field Athlete of the Year
Tyler Burgess
Tyler Burgess firmly established himself as Pennsylvania’s undisputed King of the Hurdles throughout his junior and senior seasons, delivering a high school career that was nothing short of extraordinary. He successfully defended his titles as PIAA State Champion in both the 110m High Hurdles and 300m Intermediate Hurdles, showcasing remarkable consistency and dominance at the highest level. Burgess’s indoor prowess was equally impressive, where he claimed both the Pennsylvania State and National Championships in the 60m Hurdles, underscoring his status as the premier hurdler in the region and beyond.
During the outdoor season, Burgess set a new PIAA record with a time of 13.63 in the 110m High Hurdles prelims and ran a scorching 13.28 earlier in the year, ranking among the fastest performances ever recorded by a high school athlete nationwide. His impact extended beyond individual events, as he played a critical role in Palmyra’s District 3 championship-winning 4x100m relay team, which went on to secure a third-place finish at the PIAA State Championships. He also contributed significantly to the team’s 4x400m relay, helping them to a podium finish.
Burgess graduates holding District 3 records in both hurdle events, leaving a legacy of excellence and competitive fire. With a literal track record like his, he is poised to continue making waves as he advances his athletic career at Texas Tech.

First Team All-County
Sprinter of the Year
Jacob Burgess – Palmyra, Senior
A standout in the long jump, Burgess also left his mark on the track during his senior year. He dominated the 100m and 200m races at the Lebanon County Championship Meet, later earning a 5th-place finish in the 100m at the Mid Penn Championships. His season culminated with a 6th-place finish in the 100m at the District 3 Championships, where he posted a personal-best time of 10.63 seconds. Burgess also played a pivotal role in Palmyra’s 4x100m relay team, which clinched the District 3 crown. He recently committed to furthering his athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh.
Distance Runner of the Year
David Moran – Annville-Cleona, Junior
After earning bronze in 2024, Moran returned stronger to capture the 800m State Championship. He also claimed titles at both the District 3 AA Championships and the Lebanon County meet. His top time in the 800m was 1:55.91. In addition, he clocked 51.14 in the 400m, 4:27.33 in the 1600m, and played a key role in Annville’s 4x800m relay, which placed 5th at the PIAA State Championships.
Hurdler of the Year
Tyler Burgess – Palmyra, Senior
Burgess capped off a stellar high school career by repeating as PIAA State Champion in both the 110m High Hurdles and 300m Intermediate Hurdles. In the 110m prelims at States, he set a new PIAA record with a time of 13.63. Earlier in the season, he ran a blazing 13.28—ranking as the 8th fastest time ever recorded by a high school athlete. He also posted a season-best of 37.04 in the 300m hurdles. Burgess graduated holding District 3 records in both hurdle events and contributed to Palmyra’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays. He will continue his track career at Texas Tech.
Jumper of the Year
Jacob Burgess – Palmyra, Senior
Burgess claimed the Long Jump title at the Lebanon County Championships and continued to excel in the postseason. He captured gold at the Mid Penn Championships, took third at the District 3 meet, and wrapped up his senior campaign with a 7th-place finish at the PIAA State Championships. His top mark for the season was 24’3.5″ LebCo’s top jumper (& sprinter) is set to continue his athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh.
Thrower of the Year
Alex Kissinger – Cedar Crest, Senior
Kissinger claimed the Discus title at the Lebanon County Championship Meet and went on to secure an 8th-place finish at the District 3 Championships, achieving a season-best throw of 155’9”. In the Shot Put, he earned 5th place at the Lancaster-Lebanon League Meet and qualified for the District 3 Championships, where he recorded his season-best measurement with a top throw of 50’0.75”.
Relay Team of the Year
Palmyra – 4x100m
The team of Travis McDannell, Tyler Burgess, Landon Weldon, and Jacob Burgess captured the District 3 Championship title and went on to earn a bronze medal at the PIAA State Championships. Their season included a standout performance of 41.24, marking the 5th fastest time ever recorded in Pennsylvania history.

Sprints
Landen Weaber (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – At the Lancaster-Lebanon League Championship Meet, Weaber showcased his speed, securing 3rd place in the 100m with a time of 10.81 and 7th in the 200m with a 22.51. He also powered Cedar Crest’s 4x100m relay team to a strong 2nd-place finish as the anchor. Weaber capped his season with an 8th-place finish in the 100m at the District 3 Championships.
Distance
Travis Furmanski (Cedar Crest / Junior) – Furmanski solidified his status as one of the state’s top distance runners, placing 7th in the 3200m at the PIAA State Championships after earning runner-up honors at Districts. He set a new Cedar Crest school record with a time of 9:12.53 at States. At the Lebanon County Championships, he claimed titles in both the 1600m and 3200m, with a season-best 4:20.07 in the 1600m.
Hurdles
Jack Waranavage (Cedar Crest / Senior) – Waranavage qualified for the District 3 Championships in the 110m High Hurdles, posting a season-best time of 15.76. He earned a 6th-place finish at the LL League Championships with that performance.
Jumps
Jonathan Beam (Palmyra / Senior) – Beam put together an impressive postseason run, securing a silver medal in the Triple Jump at the Mid Penn Championships with a season-best effort of 43’1.5″. He followed that performance with an 8th-place finish at the District 3 Championships. Beam will take his talents to the University of Delaware to continue his athletic career.
Throws
Tristan Long (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Long dominated the Shot Put at the Lebanon County Championship Meet, securing first place. He went on to finish 8th at the Lancaster-Lebanon League Championships and earned a spot at the District 3 Championships, where he achieved a season-best throw of 49’0.85”.
Relay
4x800m – Annville-Cleona – Dominic Basselgia, Matthew Clemson, Landon Hostetter, and David Moran teamed up to finish 3rd at the LL League Championships before claiming the District 3 AA title. They recorded a season-best time of 8:05.43, which earned them 5th place at the PIAA State Championships.

Sprints
Travis McDannell (Palmyra / Junior) – McDannell shone brightly at the Lebanon County Championship Meet, earning second-place finishes in both the 100m and 200m, coming in only behind his teammate Jacob Burgess. He continued his strong season at the Mid Penn Championships, securing 8th in the 100m with a time of 10.92 and 6th in the 200m with a 22.06. At the District 3 Championships, he competed in both sprint events and played a vital role in Palmyra’s 4x100m relay team, which captured the gold medal.
Distance
Landon Hostetter (Annville-Cleona / Senior) – Hostetter captured the District 3 AA title in the 3200m and went on to place 10th at the PIAA State Championships, posting a season-best time of 9:32.50. He also took 4th in the 1600m at Districts with a time of 4:24.82. In addition to his individual success, Hostetter played a vital role on Annville’s 4x800m relay team, which earned a 5th-place medal at States.
Hurdles
Noah Stewart (Palmyra / Senior) – Stewart finished 2nd in the 110m High Hurdles at the Lebanon County Championships and went on to qualify for the District 3 Championships, where he recorded his season-best time of 15.51. In the 300m Intermediate Hurdles, he posted a top time of 43.90.
Jumps
Cameron Tirado (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – Tirado had a strong season in the High Jump, highlighted by a 6’6″ clearance that earned him a 7th-place finish at the PIAA State Championships. Leading up to his podium finish at States, Tirado claimed the Lebanon County title, finished as the runner-up at the LL League Meet, and secured 5th place at the District 3 Championships.
Throws
Bryson Fogelsanger (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Fogelsanger had tremendous senior year in the Javelin, achieving a season-high throw of 175’2”. He earned a close second place at the Lebanon County Championship Meet, followed by a 4th-place finish at the Lancaster-Lebanon League Championships and a strong 2nd at the District 3 AA Championships. He wrapped up his season with a 10th-place finish at the State Championships. Additionally, Fogelsanger qualified for the District 3 Championships in the Discus, recording a best throw of 141’1”.
Relay
4x800m – Lebanon – The squad of Gavin Sheetz, Owen Kreider, Jaeqwan Johnson, and Thadeous Gilbert posted a time of 8:11.90 at the District 3 Championship Meet, earning 7th place. Their performance established them as the top Lebanon County team in the event.
