Annville-Cleona Dutchmen

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3

Head Coach: Michael Hall – 3rd season

Key Returning Players: Gabriella Tetzlaff (Sr.); Nia Hafey (Jr.)

Key Newcomers: Kaleena Espada (Sr.); Mackenzie Long (Sr.); Samara Roserie (Jr.); Charlotte Clyde (Jr.); Allie Smith (So.); Sophia Sirriannia (Fr.)

Key Losses:
Amelia Summers; Olivia Morrissey

Outlook: Annville-Cleona enters 2025 looking to build on a breakout season that saw the Dutchmen contend at the top of Section 3 and push deep into postseason play. While close losses kept them from making a longer run, the foundation is firmly in place thanks to last year’s senior leaders, Amelia Summers and Olivia Morrissey, who leave behind a lasting culture of competitiveness.

The team will be led by Gabriella Tetzlaff and Nia Hafey, who combined for 57 wins last season and are both within striking distance of the 50-career win milestone — a feat accomplished by only three players in program history. Hafey also claimed the Lebanon County #2 Singles title and posted top finishes at both Districts and the L-L League, while Tetzlaff qualified for District Doubles.

Looking ahead, Kaleena Espada and Allie Smith are expected to step into the singles lineup, with doubles depth still to be decided among several players. With proven leaders at the top and new talent eager to contribute, Coach Hall’s squad has the tools to stay among Section 3’s best while aiming to turn last year’s near-misses into postseason breakthroughs.

Outlook: After finishing 2-10 in 2024, Cedar Crest enters 2025 looking to bounce back with a deeper and more balanced roster. Seniors Laura Barton and Ali Sparks will provide veteran leadership, while Lana Cawley is expected to anchor the middle of the lineup. The addition of a talented freshman class gives the Falcons new options in both singles and doubles, creating competition for spots and adding long-term potential to the program.

Coach Bowersox is excited about the team’s energy and growth, emphasizing fundamentals, confidence, and team chemistry as key areas of focus. With experience at the top and promising newcomers ready to contribute, Cedar Crest aims to improve its record and climb the standings while continuing to build toward sustained success.

    ELCO Raiders

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3

Head Coach: Chris Gyorke – 8th season

Key Returning Players: Alexis Hartz (Sr.)

Key Losses: Reece Woelfling, Nicole Books

Outlook: ELCO finished 5-9 last season and now enters 2025 in full rebuild mode. The Raiders return just one varsity player, Alexis Hartz, who played No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles in 2024. With heavy losses across the lineup, the team faces a year of transition.

A roster filled with first-year players and JV athletes will compete for varsity spots, making development and fundamentals the top priorities. While this season will be centered on gaining experience, Coach Gyorke hopes the foundation built in 2025 will strengthen the program for years to come.

 Lebanon Cedars

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1

Head Coach: Morgan Brady – 3rd season

Key Returning Players: Sarah Zheng (Sr.); Scarlett Meyer (Sr.); Sally Zheng (Sr.); Yuan Mercedes (Sr.); Geisha Perez (Sr.)

Key Players Lost: Whitney Bartal, Nevaeh Colon, AmyMarie Castro-Taylor

Outlook:
With a 2-11 record last season, the Cedars showed clear progress by doubling their win total from 2023. They now aim to take another step forward in 2025 with a stronger mix of experience and depth. Seniors Sarah Zheng, Scarlett Meyer, Sally Zheng, and Yuan Mercedes form a reliable veteran core at the top of the lineup, giving Lebanon the stability they lacked in past seasons. The return of Geisha Perez, who sat out last year, adds another boost to the roster and strengthens the middle of the order.

The Cedars will also benefit from having eight returning players overall, a number that provides valuable continuity after seasons of turnover. Several athletes worked hard during the offseason to raise their game, which has already shown in preseason practices through improved consistency and confidence. That foundation could help Lebanon stay competitive in tight matches that slipped away last year.

Coach Brady stresses that skill development and competitiveness within Section 1 remain the team’s top priorities. With leadership from the seniors, renewed depth across the roster, and a growing sense of chemistry, the Cedars are positioned to continue their climb and translate offseason work into stronger results on the court this fall.

Northern Lebanon Vikings

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3

Head Coach: Matt Berdinka – 17th season

Key Returning Players: Elsie Shuey (Sr.); Rachel Troup (Sr.)

Key Losses: Riley Thompson; Stephanie Wang; Bella Hollinger; Valeria Lopez

Outlook: Northern Lebanon enters the 2025 season in rebuilding mode after finishing 5-7 overall and 3-5 in Section play last fall. The Vikings graduated seven players from that squad, leaving the program with newer players having plenty of opportunities for new players to step into varsity roles.

Seniors Elsie Shuey and Rachel Troup return as the clear leaders of this year’s team. Their experience will be crucial in guiding a young and developing roster through what is expected to be a rebuilding year for the Vikings.

Coach Berdinka’s biggest challenge will be depth, as he looks to round out a full roster and establish a new core group. With leadership at the top and room for fresh talent to grow, Northern Lebanon will focus on development and competitiveness while laying the groundwork for future success.

 Palmyra Cougars

Mid-Penn Conference – Keystone Division

Head Coach: Matt Opilo – 26th season

Key Returning Players: Mia Fair (Sr.); Anna Rashid (Jr.)

Key Newcomers: Nyanta Patel (Jr.); Trini Martinez (So.); Hope Reichley (So.); Alana Frawley (So.); Claire Busher (So.)

Outlook:  Palmyra returns a strong nucleus in 2025, led by Mia Fair and Anna Rashid, who captured the Mid-Penn championship at No. 2 doubles last season. Both have put in significant offseason work, and their growth in skill and confidence should make them key leaders for the Cougars this fall.

Depth is the defining trait of this year’s team. Newcomers Nyanta Patel, Trini Martinez, Hope Reichley, Alana Frawley, and Claire Busher are all capable of stepping into the lineup, giving Palmyra valuable options in both singles and doubles. With one of the deepest rosters Coach Opilo has had, the Cougars are positioned to remain competitive across every court.

With proven success at the top and a wave of new talent ready to contribute, Palmyra has the tools to make noise in the Mid-Penn once again. If the team can convert its depth into consistency, expect the Cougars to be in the mix for both league success and postseason opportunities.
