Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week. Linked below are the articles about our most recent winners of the award.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
One vote per email address, per day will be allowed.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.

Female Nominees
Kendall Cooper (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Track & Field: The senior sprinter finished as the runner-up in both the 100m & 200m at the LL League Championships. Cooper’s silver medal-winning times were 12.05 & 24.84. She also helped the 4x100m to a 3rd place finish (49.33) & the 4x400m to a 6th finish (4:09.97). Cooper enters Districts as #2 seed in both individual events, while the 4x100m is the top-ranked team in AA.
Makenna Haas (ELCO / Sr.) – Track & Field: The senior captured gold in the Triple Jump at the LL League Championships with a top leap of 37’3.5″. Haas also medaled with a 5th place finish in the Long Jump (17’8″) and anchored ELCO 4x100m team that finished 7th (50.77). Haas has qualified for Districts in both jumping events, including being the top seed in the Triple Jump.
Bri Koehler (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Lacrosse: Playing midfield for the Falcons, Koehler has tallied 27 goals & 9 assists. While the senior has been a key piece of the 2025 Cedar Crest, she represents her teammates this week as they have achieved the best record in school history. They are also the first Cedar Crest lacrosse team, girls or boys, to qualify for the District 3 Playoffs.
Maddy Waldron (Palmyra / So.) – Track & Field: At the Mid Penn Championships, the sophomore sprint talent took silver in the 100m (12.41) & bronze in the 200m (25.51). Waldron was also a leg on the 4x100m (5th, 50.34) & 4x400m (4:11.77). Going into the District 3 AAA Championships, Waldron is the #9 seed in both individual events.
4x100m Relay (Northern Lebanon) – Track & Field: The team of Johbrianna Long, Haylee Mullen, Shea Moyer, & Selah Martino ran a 52.40 at the LL League Championships. This time was the best in school history, replacing the previous record that had stood since 1978.

Male Nominees
Eddie Ferrer (Lebanon / Jr.) – Track & Field: At the LL League Championships, Ferrer placed 3rd in the Triple Jump (42’2.25″). The junior is a District 3 Qualifier in the Long Jump with a season best of 21’2″.
Luke Hentz (ELCO / Jr.) – Track & Field: At the LL League Championships, the junior ran 2:00.14 in the 800m. Hentz’s season best of 1:58.97 in the event qualified him for the District 3 Championship Meet. He is also a District Qualifier in the 1600m with a season best time of 4:27.93.
Bryce Hoglund (ELCO / Sr.) – Track & Field: The senior Pole Vaulter won silver at the LL League Championships with a top height of 12’6″ Hoglund has qualified for the District 3 Championships.
Landon Hostetter (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Track & Field: At the LL League Championships, the senior distance runner set a new PR in the 3200m (9:33.36) on his way to a 6th place finish. Hostetter also ran a key leg for the Dutchmen 4x800m team that claimed bronze. In addition to his talents as a runner, which will carry him into Districts this weekend, Hostetter is also an acclaimed student, having recently received honors as a National Merit Scholarship recipient.
Jacob Lantz (Palmyra / Jr.) – Lacrosse: Palmyra finished its season with wins over Hershey & Red Land. In those two contests, Lantz scored 10 goals and added an assist. The Cougars finished the regular season with five straight wins for a 12-6 record. Their season will continue into Districts.
Viseth Meng (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Tennis: The senior paired with Joe Shkreli to finish 3rd at the District 3 AAA Doubles Championship Tournament. The bronze medal finish also qualified them for States. This accomplishment follows four years as a varsity letter winner for the Falcons, including finishing as the silver medalist in last year’s District 3 Singles Championship Tournament.
