This past week, the PIAA Swimming & Diving Championships took place at Bucknell University. Competing in Lewisburg were five individual athletes & one relay team representing Annville-Cleona, Lebanon, Northern Lebanon, and Palmyra.
The meet was divided into two two-day events, with the AA competitions taking place on Wednesday & Thursday, followed by AAA on Friday & Saturday.
Below are the results for all of the LebCo athletes who competed.

AAA
Girls
Kristen Thai, Palmyra
After finishing 14th at States in 2024, Thai again returned after grabbing bronze at the District 3 Championships. The lone female representative from LebCo at this year’s State meet was one of twenty-four AAA divers to compete. The senior finished with a score a 346.10 to claim 13th overall, picking up 4 points for Palmyra.

Jomar Hidalgo, Lebanon
The sophomore made his 2nd appearance at the State Championships. Last year, he placed 21st in the 100 yard Backstroke, but entered this year’s competition as the #15 seed. In the prelims, Hidalgo placed 16th. However, in the finals, he dropped .16 from his previous race to take 14th.

Sam Gladysz, Palmyra
The Palmyra junior entered States as the #23 seed in the 100 yard Fly. Remaining consistent, Gladysz placed 15th in the prelims to earn his spot in the Finals. Once in the finals, he again placed 15th, competing a massive move from where he entered the meet.

Palmyra – 400 yd Freestyle Relay
Gladysz was joined by his Cougar teammates John Yerke, Cornelius Cummings, & Mac Kishel to compete in the 400 yd Freestyle Relay. They entered as the #30 ranked relay, but improved upon their seeding with a 26th place performance in the Prelims.

Boys
Danny Trate, Annville-Cleona
Following a 27th place finish in 2024, the Annville-Cleona junior was the #18 seed entering the this year’s competition in the 50 yard Free. In the prelims, he dropped his time by .12 to finish 11th. In the finals, Trate shaved off another .07 from his time to take 10th overall.

Collin Cheslock, Northern Lebanon
The Northern Lebanon junior made a return trip to States, again competing in the 100 yard Breaststroke. He entered at the 28th seed and in the prelims dropped .21 off his entry time.
