Northern Lebanon 2, Hershey 1
On Saturday, Northern Lebanon hosted Hershey. The Vikings entered the game with a record of 2-0, while the Trojans were 2-1.
In what was a pitching duel throughout, the Vikings were able to put two runs on the board in the 4th inning. The scoring started as a result of a Lynsie Mauser triple that scored Addison Hollenbach. This was followed by an Addison Kubica liner that was mishandled, allowed Mauser to trot home.
That would be all the scoring that Northern Lebanon would need on account of Hollenbach‘s outstanding pitching performance. While Hershey did get one run back in the 7th, the junior finished the game without giving up an earned run. She also registered 12 Ks and did not issue a walk in her seven innings of work (7 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 12 K, 0 BB).
Mauser went 3-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Kubica was 2-3
Northern Lebanon (3-0) will host Muhlenberg on Monday.

Annville-Cleona 5, Biglerville 4
Last season, Biglerville finished the regular season atop the District 3 AAA Power Rankings. This early season matchup for the Dutchmen offered an early test for what they may expect in the postseason. Making things more difficult was that Annville had to take to the road for this contest.
Despite being on the road, the Dutchmen took advantage of being the first to step up to the plate. In the Top 1st, Annville got on the board when Morgan Long hit a sacrifice fly to score Bree Pulaski. After holding Biglerville scoreless, the Dutchmen scored again in the Top 2nd when Summer Light walked and later scored on a passed ball.
Already up 2-0, Annville added another run in the Top 5th when a Faith Wagner double was followed by Abigail Evans hitting in a fielder’s choice that allowed Wagner to score. That extra run proved to be critical because, in the Bottom 5th, Biglerville’s Miller hit a two-run home run to make the game 3-2.
The score would remain 3-2 until the Top 7th when Long’s aggressive baserunning allowed her to score on an error, and a Zoe Miller RBI single made the game 5-2. Things got interesting in the Bottom 7th when Biglersville’s Miller hit her second two-run homer of the afternoon. However, Annville pitcher Zoe Miller was able to shut down another further comeback attempt.
Nia Hafey (3-3, 2B) and Danika Setlock (2-3, BB) each had multi-hit games for Annville. Long, Evans, and Miller each had an RBI.
Temperence Brubaker pitched the first four innings to earn the win (4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 K, 3 BB). Miller pitched the final three innings to close it out (3 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 1 K).
Annville-Cleona (3-1) will travel to Garden Spot on Monday.
Cedar Crest 20, Lebanon 5 [F/4]
On Friday afternoon, Cedar Crest earned the victory between the crosstown rivals by utilizing several solid performances at the plate to make contact, which led to hits and defensive miscues by Lebanon.
Lebanon scored three runs in the 1st inning, a sign that their offense continues to improve. The Cedars went on to add two runs in the 2nd. Kambria Harbaugh, who had a triple in the 2nd, had two hits and an RBI (2-2, RBI, 2 R, 3B). Emily Fickes-Seitz, Raven Soliday, Katrina Leary, and Makenzie Swisher also had RBIs for the Cedars.
The Falcons were able to get past the solid effort by the Cedars by again watching their offense kick into high gear. After putting up two runs in the 1st, they put up six in the 2nd, then followed it up with ten in the 3rd. Another two runs in the 4th added to the lead before the game was called.
Leading Crest was Gwen Zimmerman (3-4, 5 RBI, R) and Mia Lutz (3-4, 3 RBI, 3 R, 2B, 3B). Ava Rosario (2-3, 2 RBI, 3 R), Lana Cawley (1-1, HR, 2 RBI, R), Kya Sherwood (2-4, 3 R), Lydia McClintic (2-4, 2 R, 2B), and Elli Malinoski (3-3, 3B, 3 R) all played important roles in the victory. Cedar Crest finished the game with 19 hits.
Kate Poorman earned the win (3.2 IP, 5 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 3 BB).
Cedar Crest (2-3) will host Lampeter-Strasburg on Monday. Lebanon (2-3) will travel to ELCO on Monday.
