  Annville-Cleona Dutchmen

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3

Head Coach: Caitlin Heller – 2nd season

Key Returners: Matt Clemson (Sr); Bryson Fogelsanger (Sr); Wes Heller (Sr); Landon Hostetter (Sr); Jon Shay (Sr.); Oliver Funck (Jr)  David Moran (Jr); Jon Moran (Jr); Hudson Sellers (Jr); Luke Tshudy (So); Ben Boyd (So); Aiden Lezon (So); Jaxon Speece (So); Hunter Troxell (So)

Key Newcomers: Ondej Hoffman (Sr); Luke Wentling (Jr); Oliver Brandt (Fr); Levi Custer (Fr); Isaiah Figueroa (Fr); Jaylynn Moyer (Fr); Danny Shay (Fr); Dominic Wentling (Fr)

Key Losses: Tim Montijo

2024 Record: 3-4 overall, 3-4 in Section 3

Outlook: Annville-Cleona Cross Country has been among the best in the State over the past few years, so it’s no surprise that middle-distance/distance has been the backbone of the Track & Field program. Though smaller than most schools, the Dutchmen did not back down and won gold in the 4x800m at LL Championships and then again at the District 3 Championships. David Moran put an exclamation point on that effort when he finished 3rd in the 800m at the PIAA State Championships. With Moran returning for his junior year, he will again line-up beside a talented crew of fellow distance State Qualifiers from last season: Oliver Funck, Landon Hostetter, and Matt Clemson. Jon Moran (David’s twin) will also carry with him his 4x400m relay experience from States. While there is top-end talent, look out for the depth of the 2025 Annville-Cleona team, which will thrive on the fact that many of the school’s top athletes from football, basketball, cross country, and wrestling are on the roster. They have the athletes to put together competitive line-ups that could challenge for the Section 3 Championship, the District 3 Championship, and several postseason medals along the way.

To help mold her athletes, Coach Heller has built out a coaching staff that includes former local standouts Reagan Hess (Annville/Slippery Rock) and Hannah Woelfling Soda (Cedar Crest/Millersville), along with new coaches Da’Modric Green (Annville-Cleona) and Sidney Wike (Lebanon / LVC).

 Cedar Crest Falcons

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1

Head Coach: Rob Bare – 31st season

Key Returners: Aidan Arnold (Sr); Dylan Groff (Sr); Alex Kissinger (Sr); Tristan Long (Sr); Shade Rahman (Sr); Malachi Victor (Sr); Cristhian Viveros (Sr); Jack Waranavage (Sr); Tony Figueroa (Jr); Travis Furmanksi (Jr); Charlie Joffy (Jr.); Justin Moreno (Jr); Cameron Tirado (Jr); Bryce Wampler (Jr); Landen Weaber (Jr); Tanner Zimmerman (Jr); Zach Margut (So); Isaiah Zimmerman (So)

Key Newcomers: Max Fleischer (Jr); Shawn Alexander (Fr); Jordan Anderson (Fr); Tyler Carroll (Fr); Hayden Snavely (Fr); Wylie Scott (Fr); Henry Wengert (Fr); Wyatt Wolfe (Fr)

Key Losses: Reed Fretz, Nick Lambros, Jacob Ruth, Jeremiah Santiago, Leo Tirado

2024 Record: 5-1 overall, 5-1 in Section 1

Outlook: In 2024, the Falcons had another tremendous season under the guidance of Coach Rob Bare and his staff. They finished 5-1 with their only loss coming against McCaskey (81-69) in the final dual meet of the season. Several key pieces from last year’s squad graduated last June, including sprinter/jumper Leo Tirado, who is now a member of Alvernia’s team. Even without the impressive list representing the Class of ’24, Cedar Crest is poised for another big year. The talent among the group returning is deep, led by Dylan Groff, who won the LL Championship last season. While Groff was the only State qualifier, there will be several members of this team worth watching as headliners. The culture that is promoted at Cedar Crest has historically allowed for every athlete to be the best version of themselves, a theme that is reinforced daily. Additionally, the Falcons are stressing the theme “Brick by Brick” to the Ten Bricks that serve as foundational values of Cedar Crest Track & Field: Built Different, Energy, Family, Tradition, Heart, Desire, Falcon Pride, #teamTIFF, Compete, and Champions. With every piece in place, look for Cedar Crest to again vie for the Section 1 Championship and for several Falcons to medal during the postseason.

    ELCO Raiders

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3

Head Coach: Robert Miller – 17th season

Key Returners: Chad Keller (Sr); Collin Reddinger (Sr); Bryce Hoglund (Sr); Harrison Kramer (Sr); Avery Kurtz (Jr); Ben Macchione (Jr); Griffin Kreider (So)

Key Newcomers: Daryl Brandon (Fr), Chandler Gass (Fr)

Key Losses: Luke Macchione, Camden Marquette, Jake Williams

2023 Record: 6-1 overall, 6-1 in Section 3

Outlook: The past couple of years have seen record numbers for the ELCO Track & Field team, including nearly 100 athletes between the boys and girls teams this season. This brings a large amount of depth that leads to valuable competition on a daily basis. Many key performers returning from last year’s team that finished just one win shy of claiming the Section 3 Championship. It is worth noting that they also return half of their 4x800m that qualified for Districts (Chad Keller & Ben Macchione). Look for the Raiders to be very competitive in dual meet action, as well as at invitationals and into the postseason.

    Lebanon Cedars

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1

Head Coach: Keith Rolon – 1st season

Key Returners: Owen Kreider (Sr); Gavin Sheetz (Sr); Robert Santiago (Sr); Nate Trace (Sr); Malachi Briddell (Jr); Eddie Ferrer (Jr); Samuel Hershey (So)

Key Losses: Ramon Urena Batista, Jalik Hill, Tyler Long, Jahkeim Medlock, Derek Infante, Mahkye Cortes

2023 Record: 1-5 overall, 1-5 in Section 1

Outlook: Under first-year head coach Keith Rolon, the Cedars will look to continue building toward success in 2025. Rolon, a former State medalist for the Cedars, becomes the first Lebanon alumnus to lead the program in recent history. Now in his 10th year with the program, he hopes to continue developing and maximizing the success of individual athletes and relays to qualify for the postseason. This method has worked in recent years, as the Cedars has sent a large number of athletes to compete collegiately, including last year’s seniors Ramon Urena Batista (Shippensburg) and Jalik Hill (Bloomsburg). This year’s group also has several athletes who will soon have a chance to run collegiately but will first look to improve by working hard daily. Look for many of these athletes to be competitive deep into the postseason.

Additionally, after being displaced since May 2022 due to construction and a sinkhole, there is hope that the Cedars will be able to return to hosting home meets, although they are still working through some logistical pieces with the set-up of the new facility.

LebCo Boys Track & Field All-County Team: 2024

  Northern Lebanon Vikings

Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3

Head Coach: Adam Molinaro – 3rd season

Key Returners: David Boyer (Sr); Ben Clemmer (Sr); Brenden Ryan (Sr); Eli Thompson (Sr); Diego Bustillo (Jr.); Luke Hentz (Jr); Josiah Kelly (Jr); Kayden Moyer (Jr); Ben Planken (Jr); Thaddeus Raub (Jr); Tucker Reiber (Jr); Connor Troxell (Jr)

Key Newcomers: Karter Adams (Sr); Andrew Stohler (Jr); Bryant Baquerizo (Fr); Levi Bucks (Fr); Johnny Hilton (Fr); Cody Leedy (Fr)

Outlook: After going 6-2 last season, the Vikings return this season looking to continue their improvement. If they can do this, they will not only make an impact in dual meet action, but they will send several athletes through to the postseason. While there were three District 3 qualifiers last year, all were seniors, including Tyler Shunk who is now running at Bloomsburg. That said, there is a culture of excellence beginning to take root at Northern Lebanon, with several athletes ready to make their marks this season.

    Palmyra Cougars

Mid-Penn Conference – Keystone Division

Head Coach: Danny Byrd – 17th season

Key Returners: Jonathan Beam (Sr); Jacob Burgess (Sr); Tyler Burgess (Sr); Cohen Claar (Sr); Cade Palmer (Sr); Landon Weldon (Sr); Cornelius Cummings (Jr); Travis McDannell (Jr); Josh Miller (Jr); Josh Tshudy (So)

Key Losses: Mason Bucks, Jonathan McDannell

2023 Record: 6-0 overall, 6-0 in Keystone – Keystone Champions / PIAA State Runner-up

Outlook:Last season, the Cougars won their 5th straight Mid Penn Keystone Championship before finishing as the runner-up at the PIAA Championship Meet. While two big pieces of the 2024 team have since graduated and are competing collegiately, Mason Bucks (PSU) & Jon McDannell (Mansfield), Palmyra still has plenty of firepower returning in 2025. This year’s team is headlined by senior Tyler Burgress, whose ability in the hurdles won him two gold medals at the PIAA State Championships and has since led to him being crowned the State Indoor Champion and National Indoor Champion in the 60m Hurdles. This year, Pennsylvania’s “King of Hurdles” will be looking to set a new State record. Also returning is Jacob Burgess, Tyler’s twin brother, who recently won the Long Jump at the Pennsylvania Indoor Championships. They will be joined by junior Travis McDannell, who joined his older brother and the Burgess brothers as a member of last year’s 4x100m that finished 9th at States. There will be some questions as to whether the Cougars can repeat the success they had in the relay again this season, but individuals such as Landon Weldon are showing early this season that they may be ready to fill the void. In the distance running realm, be on the lookout for junior Cornelius Cummings to continue to add to his resume as he pushes a solid crew of endurance runners. If all goes well, look for these Palmyra Cougars to surpass the success they had in 2024.
