Kailah Correa
For the past four years, the Lebanon Cedars have been led by their point guard, Kailah Correa. During the Week of January 27th, the senior scored 10 points in a key win over Lancaster Catholic before going off for 23 points against Hempfield. Those performances landed her LebCo Athlete of the Week honors right as she scored her 2,000th career point to become just the 10th female in Lancaster Lebanon League history to reach the lofty milestone.
On February 4th, Lebanon celebrated Senior Night, a class that includes Correa, along with Lili Harrison and Jae Burrus, . In the 49-39 win over Manheim Township, Correa surpassed the 2,000 point mark, etching her name into the record books as one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the league. Of the ten players to hit the mark, Correa joined four other LebCo players on the list: Becky Hower (Lebanon Catholic), Carla Munnion (Cedar Crest), Alyse Hoover (Cedar Crest), and Ashli Schwab (ELCO).
As it turns out, that record-setting game would not be the most important game against Manheim Township of Correa’s storied career. After making it to the LL Championship each of the past two years before losing to solid teams, Columbia (2023) and Lancaster Catholic (2024), the Cedars got another chance to make it over the top on the evening of February 12th when they squared off against the Blue Streaks.
Trailing 18-5 in the championship game, Correa led a thrilling come-from-behind win, scoring 22 points as the Cedars took the lead with just over six minutes remaining on their way to the 46-33 victory. The LL League Championship marks Lebanon’s first since 1979 and adds to the legacy that Correa will leave behind.
Correa is indeed a special player. This season, she has averaged 19.7 points per game while shooting nearly 40% from three-point range, but more importantly, she does anything that is needed for her team to win each night. Though known primarily as a prolific scorer, she also gets her teammates involved in the action, averaging nearly 5 assists per game. Additionally, she is averaging over 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 steals.
As a result of her ability to create, disrupt, and distribute, a three-headed monster that includes Harrison (1,000 points/1,000 rebounds) and junior Olive Brandt (13.2 ppg) has emerged. In many games, Correa is not the team’s leading scorer. None of that matters to her as long as it results in a win for her Cedars.
Correa described her role on the team, saying, “I have fit into the team goals by being a leader, playing unselfishly, and having a positive impact on the team.”
Coach Jamie Walborn praised Correa’s mentality, saying, “Her stats speak for themselves, showcasing her as a phenomenal athlete with incredible talent and consistency on the court. Kailah is a leader who elevates her teammates. However, what truly sets Kailah apart is the person she is off the court. Whether it’s supporting her teammates or showing her competitiveness at practice, Kailah continues to demonstrate her dedication and character.”
Walborn continued, “She is one of the best athletes I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and what makes her so special is that she never is satisfied – she wants to be coached hard and is always looking for ways to improve her game.”
The “team-first” philosophy and a willingness to hard work have translated into success again this season. Lebanon currently holds a 22-3 record ahead of the District 3 Playoffs, where they will begin playing as the #3 seed.
After making it to the PIAA State Championship Tournament each of the last two years, a journey that included an upset of Haverford in 2023, Correa and her Cedars are in an excellent position to push to new heights in 2025.
We congratulate Kailah on all of her achievements so far and wish her, along with all of her fellow Cedars, all the best as she writes the final chapter of her storied high school career.

Correa is committed to playing at the University of Delaware next season. She will be the second collegiate basketball player from her family. Her older sister, Giahny, is a current member of PSU-Harrisburg’s team. This will be the second time that Kailah has followed in her big sister’s footsteps, as their names will both hang in the Lebanon High School gymnasium as members of the 1,000-point club.
