Lancaster Lebanon League

On Monday, the Lancaster Lebanon League held the 2024 Golf Championships at Meadia Heights Golf Club. The 18-hole, par 71 course is located in Lancaster and is home to both Conestoga Valley and Lampeter-Strasburg. It is a challenging course that measures 6,197 yards, but making it even more difficult for the local golfers was the steady rain that fell throughout the competition.

For our LebCo teams, there was a level of excitement once again this year as several individual golfers were set to make a run at some of the top spots on the leaderboard. Section 1 Champion Cedar Crest and Section 4 runner-up Annville-Cleona were each vying for the top spots in the AAA & AA competitions, but they knew that it would take a tremendous effort to pull off a win with Manheim Township and Pequea Valley in the hunt.

Cedar Crest was the top local finisher, with their top four golfers scoring 316 to come in 3rd overall behind rival Manheim Township (312) and host Lampeter-Strasburg (315). The Falcons were led by Dylan Ramsey, who finished 2nd with a 75 (+4). Behind the former State Champion were Carson DiBiaso (78), Ethan Rader (81), Isaac Wolfe (82), and Davin Kolter (82). All five Falcons made the cut for the District 3 Championship. Oddly enough, due to the way that team qualification for Districts is done, Cedar Crest will have more golfers competing as individuals at Districts than Manheim Township, who qualified four.

In AA action, Annville-Cleona was led by Logan Francis. The junior fired a 78 (+7) to finish 2nd in the AA competition. The performance qualified him for Districts, where he will be joined by Wesley Heller after the senior finished 3rd with an 85 (+14).

Northern Lebanon finished 10th as a team in AAA. Leland Kohr led the Vikings with an 89. Brady Keath led ELCO with a 91.

The District 3 Championships will begin on October 10th, with the seven Lancaster Lebanon League golfers representing LebCo schools. They will be competing for their chance to compete in the PIAA State Tournament set to take place on October 21st & 22nd.
