The sophomore hurler pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only three hits and striking out nine. He also hit a solo home run as part of a four-run 4th inning.

The main offensive thrust for Northern Lebanon once again came courtesy of Moises Gonzalez, who hit a three-run home run. The senior now is now batting .440 with seven home runs.

Connor Stoltz went 1-2 with a walk and three stolen bases. Brian Bicksler drew two walks and stole a base. In addition to runs scored by the two Gonzalezes, Vinny Battistelli and Andrew Via crossed the plate for the Vikings.

ELCO 7, Manheim Central 2

The Raiders remained hot with their sixth win in seven games. Niagara Community College commit Morgan Shanaman had a fine outing on the mound, scattering five hits over seven innings, allowing two runs with five strikeouts, adding two hits and a walk in four plate appearances. Colin Bogart had two hits with two RBIs and was joined by Austin Smith and Delaware Valley commit Kody Boyer, who had two hits.

At 6-4 in Section 3 (3rd Place), ELCO has a key match-up on Friday with Donegal.

Box Score

Bishop McDevitt 3, Palmyra 2

Jonathan Strohecker struck out seven and did not allow an earned run, but a couple of errors tagged him for three unearned runs and the Cougars lost their fifth game in the last six outings. The Cougars were limited to three hits, one each from Keagan Kleinfelter, Chase Reidmiller, and Chase Blanchard. Following a hot start, Palmyra has fallen to 4th in the Mid-Penn Keystone and looks to right the ship on Friday at Carlisle.

Pequea Valley 5, Northern Lebanon 4

Despite an outstanding outing on the mound from junior Brian Bicksler (6 IP, 3 ER, 9 K), the Vikings only managed four hits in an uncharacteristically quiet day with the bats. Moises Gonzalez and Connor Stoltz both hit home runs for NL, and despite nine bases on balls issued to the Vikes, they were unable to capitalize on having runners on base all day.

Northern Lebanon is still in command of Section 4 at 9-1, with Pequea Valley down two games in the loss column at 9-3. On Friday, Northern Lebanon hosts Lancaster Mennonite, which is winless in Section 4.

Box Score

Under the lights at Lampeter, the Cedars pushed their hosts ot the limit but were unable to draw on any more magic of their two-game winning streak. Kevin Munoz threw another great game, allowing three runs (none of which were earned) and striking out six. He also did it at the plate, 2-3, with a walk and a run scored. David Furjanic and Diego Serrano had the only other two hits for Lebanon.

Lebanon 4, Elizabetown 0

After failing to record a win in the first half of the season, the Cedars have been unbeaten in the second half, with a modest two-game winning streak and another upset. Buoyed by a sparkling pitching outing from Ben Discuillo (6H, OR, 5K), the Cedars scored on a bases loaded walk to Colby Robb in the fourth to take the lead. Robb’s single in the fifth scored two, and Kevin Munoz hit a ground ball to score David FurjanicKevin Munoz threw a shutdown inning in the seventh, needing only nine pitches to seal the deal. Lebanon will be primed to avenge a pair of 3-2 losses to the Conestoga Valley Buckskins, which bookended a six-game run that saw the Cedars lose those games by a mere ten runs. The resurgent Cedars visit Lampeter-Strasburg under the lights on Wednesday and host CV on Friday.

ELCO 9, Cocalico 2

In a game narrated on X (formerly Twitter) by Northern Lebanon High School Basketball Coach Chris George, Gavin Bicher and Kody Boyer each collected three hits, while McDaniel Basketball commit Dallas George and Bryant Auker added two apiece to keep pressure on Cocalico all game. Auker and Colin Bogart each drove in two runs as well. But the performance of the game likely belonged to Austin Smith, who did it from both sides of the game. His bases-loaded walk in the first and single in the sixth each plated a run, while on the mound, his 6.2IP, 6H, 11K outing stole the show. Winners of four of their last five, the Raiders are in fourth place in LL Section 3 at 5-4 (6-6 overall). A Wednesday/Friday schedule sees ELCO at Manheim Central and at Donegal.

Box Score

Box Score

Northern Lebanon 8, Lancaster Catholic 5

The red-hot Vikings visited Clipper Magazine Stadium on Monday night for a matchup with Lancaster Catholic. Heading to the sixth with a seven-run lead, the Crusaders made things interesting before NL eventually prevailed. Connor Stoltz opened up the scoring with an RBI triple in the first. Following Andrew Via’s bases loaded walk in the second, Brian Bicksler drove in Stoltz in the third. Via and Stoltz both drew bases loaded walks in the fourth to push the lead to 5-1. Moises Gonzalez joined the party with a two-RBI single before an RBI groundout by Levi Shoemaker established a “comfortable” 8-1 lead. A perilous bottom of the seventh pulled the Crusaders to within three, but Lucas Kleisath got the final out to preserve the win. Adrian Gonzalez had another solid outing on the mound, with six hits scattered over six innings with five strikeouts to garner the win. NL will look to extend their first-place hold on Section 4 as they visit Pequea Valley (Wednesday) and host Lancaster Mennonite on Friday.

Annville-Cleona 8, Columbia 1

Reigning LebCoSports Athlete of the Week Zac Frentz enjoyed a reverse Madden curse on Monday, with two doubles and four RBI to pace the Dutchmen offensively. Ben Morcom’s two run home run in the sixth put the game out of reach. AC cruised behind five scoreless innings behind Colten Shaffer and Traian Dompier threw the final two innings to close the gamer. AC has a Wednesday/Thursday schedule at Lancaster Catholic and home against Pequea Valley.
