Karter Adams

This season, Northern Lebanon won the Lancaster Lebanon League – Section 3 Championship. While the Vikings have two-time State Champion Aaron Seidel and State qualifier Sam Wolford on their roster, they benefit from their depth. In that mix is Karter Adams. Wrestling at 127 pounds, the sophomore recently placed 4th at the PIAA District 3 (AA) Wrestling Championship to advance to the Southeast Regional Championship. This followed a performance the previous week where he took gold at Sectionals. These performances by Adams caught the attention of the LebCoSports.com community, who selected him as the LebCo Male Athlete of the Week.

At Regionals this past weekend, Adams medaled with an 8th-place finish. In his first full season of varsity wrestling, Adams compiled a season record of 35-14. His wins included 17 pins, but more impressively, he did not get pinned by any of his opponents. His first poseason also included a silver medal at the Lancaster Lebanon League Championships.

This high-level wrestling fit right into a line-up that included Wolford (107), Julian Zaragoza (114), Seidel (121), and then Adams (127). In terms of high school wrestling, this line-up was akin to the ’27 Yankees. All four qualified for Regionals, with Zaragoza being the only senior. Wolford and Seidel are both headed to States, something that is not out of the realm of possibility for Adams next season.

Coach Rusty Wallace said of Adams, “Karter is a tremendous talent. He’s quick and athletic. He has a motor and a mat sense that’s hard to teach.”

This natural ability, in combination with the level of competition that Adams faces at practice daily, equates to the sky being the limit for him. We wish Karter all the best as he begins prepping for the work that will hopefully carry him to the ’25 PIAA State Wrestling Championships.
