Cedar Crest Claims Three Titles, Palmyra Adds Medals at Bruce Dallas Invitational
With the sun shining brightly and temperatures pushing 80 degrees on Saturday, the 2026 Bruce Dallas Invitational at Cumberland Valley High School welcomed athletes from 28 different schools for an early-season look at how top athletes from across the region can excel with great competition in fabulous weather conditions. Cedar Crest and Palmyra represented Lebanon County at the meet, where medals were awarded to the top six finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams.
On the day, Lebanon County athletes combined for a total of 16 medals, with Cedar Crest taking 11 and Palmyra winning 5.
Cedar Crest’s biggest storyline was simple: the Falcons produced three champions. Landen Weaber sprinted to gold in the boys 100m in 10.82, Cameron Tirado captured the boys high jump by clearing 6’2″, and Ellie Schneider won the girls javelin with a throw of 145’3″. Those title-winning efforts helped power a strong all-around performance for Cedar Crest, which also picked up runner-up honors in the boys 4x100m relay with a time of 42.80, a 3rd-place finish in the boys 4x800m relay in 8:32.74, and several more individual medals.
Weaber and Schneider were not done adding medals. Weaber took silver in the boys 200m with a time of 22.21, while Schneider turned in another standout effort by placing 2nd in the high jump after clearing 5’4″, giving her a tremendous double-medal day. Max Fleischer also won two medals in the field by taking 3rd in the javelin at 163’8″ and 4th in the triple jump at 41’3″.
Cedar Crest’s depth showed up across the track as well where they won additional medals. Zachary Margut placed 6th in the 1600m in 4:30.64, Bryce Wampler took 7th in the 800m in 2:01.35, and Makenzie Wamsher added another medal on the girls side with a 3rd-place finish in the 800m in 2:18.95.
It is worth noting that Cedar Crest’s two State Champions, Kaddel Howard and Travis Furmanski, did not compete in the meet.
Cedar Crest was not alone in bringing medals back to the Valley, as Palmyra also turned in a solid day. The Cougars were led by standout efforts in the sprints and jumps. Maddy Waldron was 5th in the 100m finals with a time of 12.40 and also placed 4th in the 200m with a time of 25.51. Other medalists for the Cougars included Isabella Owens, who placed 4th in the long jump at 16’4″, Weston Weaver, who finished 4th in the boys high jump at 5’8″, and defending District 3 champion Jaxton Barger, who took 5th in the boys pole vault by clearing 13’0″.
Cedar Crest finished 4th in the boys team standings and 6th in the girls standings, while Palmyra placed 17th in the boys standings and 12th in the girls standings.
