Palmyra Stays Perfect with Four-Inning Shutout of CD East

Palmyra put its fresh legs to good use on Tuesday night, turning a well-timed break into another dominant performance. After getting several days to recover from last week’s 13-inning marathon that stretched across two days, the Cougars returned home and rolled past CD East, 15-0, in a game that lasted just 4 innings.

The Cougars wasted no time taking control, erupting for 8 runs in the 1st to immediately put the Panthers on their heels. Aiden Willard sparked the offense with a home run and 2 RBI, while Ezra Good, Gabe Kern, and Joey White each drove in 2 runs as Palmyra sent wave after wave of pressure through the inning.

Palmyra kept adding on from there. The Cougars pushed across 6 more runs in the 2nd, then tacked on 1 in the 4th to finish off a 10-hit attack. Jesse Willi collected 2 hits and scored twice, Julian Meley scored 2 runs, and Matthew Eldridge crossed the plate 2 times as Palmyra’s lineup stayed productive throughout the shortened win.

On the mound, Max Woodley was sharp from start to finish. Woodley tossed all 4 innings for the shutout, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 5 and walking 1.

CD East’s 3 hits came from Alex Brandt, Lucas Kern, and Mateo Dones.

Palmyra is now 9-0 and will look for win No. 10 when it travels to Gettysburg on Thursday.
