ELCO Wins Third Straight with 4-1 Home Victory Over Elizabethtown

After picking up back-to-back sweeps last week, ELCO kept its strong early-season play going on Monday with a 4-1 home victory over Elizabethtown. The Raiders handled business in four of the five varsity matches to improve to 4-1 on the season.

ELCO got wins at both #1 and #3 singles. Brett Wenger delivered a strong effort at the top spot, defeating Aaron McBride 6-4, 6-0. Jevan Marquette was also sharp at #3 singles, turning in a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jonathan Felix.

Elizabethtown’s lone point came at #2 singles, where Eli Neff defeated James Dolan 6-1, 6-3.

The Raiders were especially strong in doubles play. At #1 doubles, Brady Habecker and Tim Drib earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Cooper Hoffman and Dylan Ebersole. ELCO also got a win from Alex Sudelink and Boston Weiler at #2 doubles, as the pair secured a 6-0, 6-4 decision over Cole Gillette and Liam Blanco.

With the win, ELCO moves to 4-1 on the season.

The Raiders are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Lancaster Catholic.
