ELCO Wins Second Straight with 7-0 Road Sweep at Pottsville
After sweeping Cocalico 7-0 at home on Wednesday, ELCO kept the momentum rolling on Thursday with another dominant performance, this time on the road at Pottsville. The Raiders controlled the match throughout and secured a 7-0 sweep to improve to 3-1 on the season.
ELCO once again set the tone in singles play. Brett Wenger earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #1 singles, while James Dolan followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #2. Jevan Marquette added another strong result at #3 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 decision, and Brady Haebecker battled through the most competitive match of the day to claim a 6-4, 5-7, 10-3 win at #4. In exhibition action, Reagan Grumbine posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Isaac Seiger.
The Raiders were just as sharp in doubles. The #1 team of Wenger and Marquette cruised to an 8-0 victory, while Dolanand Haebecker matched that result with an 8-0 win at #2 doubles.
With back-to-back sweeps over Cocalico and Pottsville, ELCO heads into the weekend with plenty of momentum.
ELCO is scheduled to return to action on Monday when the Raiders host Elizabethtown.
