Cedar Crest Girls Basketball Season Outlook
Cedar Crest enters the ’25–‘26season with confidence following a 13–10 campaign that included a tie for second place in Section 1 and a trip to the District 3 playoffs. What made last year’s success even more impressive was the youth movement—four freshmen played regular varsity minutes, with Elli Malinoski (10.8 ppg, 31 threes, Section 1 & County All-Star) and Ali Groff (5 ppg, 2.5 apg, 14 threes) stepping immediately into starting roles.
This season, the Falcons return those two sophomore standouts alongside senior leader Kaila Francis, who averaged 13.1 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game while earning Section 1 and Lebanon County All-Star honors.Standing 6’2″ and now committed to Colgate University, Francis anchors an exciting young roster under third-year head coach Ashli Shay.
The team’s depth continues to grow thanks to a competitive sophomore class, with six players pushing for rotation spots and adding athleticism, size, and defensive versatility. Addi Davis, Ryan Stopper, Olivia Young, Ava Lesher, and Paige Vandette headline the group of rising contributors expected to elevate the Falcons’ overall lineup.
With three returning starters, increased experience, and a roster full of players eager to make an impact, Cedar Crest aims to take the next step. The focus remains on steady growth—improving each day in practice, competing fiercely in every game, and building on the foundation set last season as they pursue a stronger finish in both league and district play.
