Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week.

Female Nominees
Nina Harrison (Lebanon / Jr.) – Basketball: Typically relied upon for her defensive presence, the junior stepped up offensively with 11 points in Lebanon’s win over McCaskey. Harrison went 7-for-8 from the free throw line, providing composure and scoring when the Cedars needed it most.
McKenna Kantner (New Covenant / Fr.) – Basketball: The freshman had a huge week for the Flames, totaling 38 points across two games while contributing in every phase. Kantner posted 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 8 steals against Dayspring, then followed with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals versus Covenant as New Covenant finished the week 3-0.
Elli Malinoski (Cedar Crest / So.) – Basketball: The sophomore led the Lady Falcons with 19 points in a Friday night win over Hempfield. Malinoski connected on three three-pointers and once again showed her ability to take over offensively in key moments.
Hayley Sheroky (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Basketball: The senior scored 10 points in a close loss to Manheim Central, including 8 in the first half. Sheroky’s early scoring helped keep the Vikings competitive against a strong opponent.
Georgia Sellers (Annville-Cleona / Fr.) – Basketball: The freshman helped the Dutchmen return to the .500 mark, scoring 14 points in a win over Linden Hall. Earlier in the week, Sellers added 8 points in Annville-Cleona’s road victory over Octorara, continuing her steady impact in the lineup.
Kylee Trostle (ELCO / Jr.) – Wrestling: The junior opened her season with a strong showing at the prestigious Escape the Rock Tournament at North Penn High School (a LebCoSports.com favorite), placing third at 118 pounds. Trostle went 5-1 on the day, recording four pins and establishing herself early as a contender in her weight class.
Male Nominees
Tyler Detwiler (Palmyra / Sr.) – Wrestling: The senior bounced back in a big way at the Moon Duals, finishing the day 6-0 at 139 pounds. Detwiler earned key wins over two PA-ranked opponents, helping Palmyra to a runner-up team finish.
Derek Franco (Lebanon / So.) – Basketball: The sophomore delivered a dominant three-game stretch, averaging 28 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4 steals per game against Warwick, McCaskey, and Solanco. Franco’s week was highlighted by a 37-point performance against McCaskey, showcasing his shot-making, downhill attacks, and relentless two-way effort.
Oliver Funck (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Wrestling: The senior went undefeated on the week, including a 5-0 showing at the James Buchanan Tournament. Along the way, Funck reached the 100 career wins milestone, continuing a decorated and consistent high school career.
Klint Miller (ELCO / Jr.) – Wrestling: The junior captured the championship at the prestigious Penn Manor Individual Tournament, going 5-0 at 172 pounds. Miller’s title run included a semifinal victory over a two-time Virginia State Champion, highlighting his growth and consistency against elite competition.
Jemar Pauleus (Cedar Crest / So.) – Basketball: The sophomore provided a major scoring punch for the Falcons, pouring in 24 points in a win over Hempfield and adding 11 more in a victory against Conrad Weiser. Pauleus’ offensive production has been a key part of Cedar Crest’s early success.
Sam Wolford (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Wrestling: The senior earned the 150th win of his career with a victory over Susquenita. Last year’s PIAA State silver medalist, Wolford has opened his senior season with an 8-0 record and continues to be one of the state’s top competitors.
