ELCO 58, Hamburg 28

The ELCO Lady Raiders opened their season by taking on Hamburg, the hosts of their own annual tournament. It was all ELCO from the jump, as they quickly built a 16–9 advantage behind a pair of first-quarter threes from Maddie Stout and five points from Kenzie Eckhart.

By halftime, the Raiders had stretched the lead to 34–17, and by the time they entered the 4th quarter, the starters were able to rest with ELCO holding a commanding 53–22 advantage.

Stout finished with a game-high 20 points, fueled by four three-pointers. Eckhart added 13 points, going 7-for-10 at the free-throw line.

With the victory, ELCO (1-0) advances to Saturday’s Hamburg Tip-Off Tournament Championship Game.

Ephrata 43, Lebanon 42 (OT)

The Lebanon Cedars opened their 2025-2026 season on the road at Ephrata in a tightly contested game that would eventually be decided in overtime. The Mounts jumped out to an early lead, ahead by 4 after the 1st quarter and by 3 at halftime.

Lebanon battled back in the 4th quarter, erasing the deficit to force overtime, thanks in large part to Olive Brandt, who scored 6 points down the stretch. Despite the late push, Ephrata managed to hold on in the extra period to secure the win in a low-scoring affair.

Brandt finished as Lebanon’s leading scorer with 18 points, including four three-pointers. Marie McCracken led Ephrata with 16 points.

The Cedars(0-1) look to bounce back when they travel to Northern Lebanon on Friday night.
