On offense, quarterback Torrence Hubbard orchestrated five consecutive scoring drives, showcasing a potent passing attack. Hubbard connected with receiver Caden Kane for four touchdowns through the air, while Josiah Malandraadded a rushing touchdown of his own to cap off the scoring.
The Falcon “C” Team continued their impressive run with a 34–0 shutout over Lancaster Catholic, marking their second consecutive shutout. Showalter then found Brock Bair for the extra point, giving Myerstown a 7–0 lead.
In the second quarter, Reading answered with a long touchdown run, but the Panthers stopped the extra point to hold a 7–6 edge at halftime. Reading responded with another long touchdown run to take a 12–7 lead and added one more score in the fourth quarter, sealing an 18–7 final.
The Myerstown Mites lit up ELCO High School on Sunday with a commanding 26–6 victory over the Reading Nightmare, extending their winning streak to three games.
The fireworks started immediately. On the very first snap, quarterback Bennett Staudt connected with Owen Hall for a 25-yard strike. Hall, Kaiden Vincent, and Chase Clubb bulldozed their way downfield before Staudt and Hall hooked up again for a 20-yard touchdown. Vincent added the extra point, and the Panthers were off and running. Moments later, Myerstown pounced on the kickoff—Hall capped another drive with a 7-yard touchdown, with Clubb pounding in the extra point to make it 14–0.
The second quarter brought more Panther dominance. With Reading threatening, Lucas Witmer delivered a touchdown-saving tackle, and the defense forced a stop. The offense responded with another punishing drive, as Vincent finished it off with a hard-charging score. Defensively, Peyton Schies knifed into the backfield for a tackle for loss, and Greyson Ream pounced on a fumble to send the Panthers into halftime up 20–0.
Reading found the end zone in the third quarter, but the Panthers answered immediately, feeding Vincent for three straight runs before he powered across the goal line again. From there, the defense, captained by Logan Witmer, crushed every attempt at a comeback. Schies, Ream, Leeland Bucher, Quinn Campion, and Deaken Pyszka all made key contributions as the Panthers walked off with a 26–6 victory, improving to 4–1.
The Panthers Mighty Mites battled the Conrad Weiser Scouts to a thrilling 6–6 tie in a game dominated by defense and big plays.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Panthers struck early in the second when Lee Keppley found a seam and sprinted 90 yards for a touchdown, giving Myerstown the lead. The defense kept that momentum alive in the third quarter, forcing a fumble deep in their own territory. Conrad Weiser eventually tied the game late in the third quarter at 6–6, setting up a tense fourth. Both defenses dug in, trading stops and refusing to give an inch.
When the final whistle sounded, the scoreboard read even, but the Panthers walked away with their heads high. Keppley’s explosive run and the defense’s relentless effort showcased the Mighty Mites’ toughness and growth, setting a positive tone for the second half of their season.
