In the early 1960s, Lebanon High School basketball was led by John Lentz. After graduating in 1963, he went on to play at Elizabethtown College. Though those days are long past, many still consider Lentz the best pound-for-pound player ever to wear a Cedars uniform. It turns out that he has not lost much of the skill from his time playing for the red and blue.

On Tuesday, the Lebanon legend marked his 80th birthday in thrilling fashion, sinking 80 free throws in front of a packed and energized crowd at Lebanon Junior High. Family, friends, and a few hundred 7th- and 8th-graders—the Cedars’ next generation—were on their feet, cheering him on during a moment that will be long remembered.

Lebanon High School’s media crew was also there to capture the excitement. The WLHS feature includes Lianet Miranda Fuentes (narration) and Anthony Mullins (camera), both members of the freshman class.

Check out the work by the WLHS crew!
