v Conestoga Valley

B Team (1-1) Buckskins 32, Falcons 0

C Team (2-0) Falcons 36, Buckskins 16

D Team (1-1) Falcons 31, Buckskins 18

The Cedar Crest “B” Team fell 32–0 to Conestoga Valley in a complete performance by the Buckskins. Conestoga Valley controlled the game on both sides of the ball with a steady ground attack and physical defense, which the Falcons struggled to match. The Cedar Crest offense had difficulty stringing together sustained drives, while the Buckskins methodically chewed up the clock and put points on the board. The Falcons now sit at 1–1 on the young season as they prepare for a Saturday night matchup against the Manheim Central Barons.

The Falcon “C” Team kept the momentum going in week two with a 36–16 victory over Conestoga Valley. The offensive line—Tyler Seidel, Manny Ramirez, Kaidyn Rutter, Max Burdge, Jeremiah Mercado, and Jaxson Roof—paved the way for a powerful running game. Chase Reesman led the scoring with four touchdowns, while Boston Speeceadded another on the ground. Cash Shaffer and Noah Wagner each contributed two-point conversions. Defensively, the Falcons held CV scoreless into the third quarter, building a 25–0 lead, and special teams came up big with an onside kick recovery following a strong kick by Caiden Campos.

The Cedar Crest “D” Team came away with a 31–18 win over Conestoga Valley in a spirited contest. Offensively, Nico Aungst led the way with three rushing touchdowns and also returned an interception over 70 yards for a score. Carson Bugg added several extra points to help secure the victory. Defensively, Weston Elder, Carson Mong, and Matthew Hornick anchored the team, making key stops and tackles that contributed to the Falcons’ success.

Up Next: The Falcons will host Donegal on Sunday.

      Myerstown Panthers

Berks Area Youth Football League Age group information

v Kutztown Cougars

Midgets (1-1) Panthers 22, Cougars 6

Mites (1-1) Cougars 18, Panthers 14

Mighty Mites (0-2) Cougars 19, Panthers 0

The Myerstown Midgets delivered a strong all-around performance at home on Saturday, defeating the Kutztown Cougars 22–6 to earn their first win of the season. After falling behind early, the Panthers regrouped and dominated the second half behind tough line play and balanced offensive execution. Quarterback Corbin Showalter connected with Tucker Robert on a big pass to set up his own touchdown run, tying the game at 6–6. The turning point came in the third quarter when the Panthers forced a fumble deep in their own territory. Defensive end Dwain Titus contained the edge, and defensive tackle Michael Hames closed in for a safety to give Myerstown the lead. Alternating runs by Marc Maldonado, Keagan Nye, and Robert powered another drive, capped by a Showalter touchdown and a Robert run for the extra point. Robert added the final touchdown of the day, while Brock Bair hauled in the extra point pass from Showalter to close out the scoring. The offensive and defensive lines set the tone throughout, paving the way for a convincing victory.

The Myerstown Mites engaged in a thrilling back-and-forth contest against Kutztown but came up just short in an 18–14 loss. After falling behind 12–0 in the first half, the Panthers roared back immediately after halftime when Owen Hall broke free for a kickoff return touchdown and punched in the extra point, cutting the lead to 12–7. Kutztown answered with a return of their own, but the Panthers weren’t done. In the fourth quarter, Hall struck again with another touchdown run, followed by a successful extra point connection as Bennett Staudt found Chase Clubb to bring Myerstown within four. Defensively, injuries forced several players into bigger roles, and Lucas Witmer and Logan Witmer stepped up with key tackles and stops to keep the Panthers in striking distance. Hall’s explosive playmaking highlighted the team’s resilience despite the loss.

The Myerstown Mighty Mites took the field and showed plenty of grit but ultimately came up short in a 19–0 defeat. The Panthers’ defense held strong through much of the first half, keeping the Cougars scoreless until the final 90 seconds of the second quarter. Chase Noecker provided a spark with a fumble recovery in the second quarter, swinging momentum toward Myerstown. Despite tough running and hustle across the lineup, the Panthers couldn’t break through against a stout Kutztown defense. The Cougars added scores in the third and fourth quarters to seal the game. Though the scoreboard wasn’t in their favor, the Mighty Mites’ determination and defensive effort were evident.

Up Next: On Sunday, the Panthers will hit the road to take on the Blue Mountain Eagles.

Hudson Royerled the offense, with key contributions from Axle Geibe, Liam Monk, and Thomas Poltersdorf. On defense, Dimitri Stanchick and Ricky Baez were stout up front, while Brock Carpenter, Luke Mekailek, and Jayden Torres stood out in the secondary. The young Vikings gained valuable experience and showed positive signs as they put together the pieces of a quality football team.

The Northern Lebanon Peewees struggled against an experienced Carlisle squad, falling 33–0. Royer and his offensive teammates had difficulty consistently moving the ball into the end zone, while the defense was challenged by Carlisle’s physical play. Despite the loss, the Peewees showed determination and effort, with glimpses of improvement that they can build on in upcoming games.

The Northern Lebanon Pony team faced a tough challenge, dropping a 46–0 decision to Carlisle. While the scoreboard was lopsided, the Vikings continued to compete throughout the contest. Royer and the offensive unit battled against a strong defensive front, and the defense showed flashes of solid tackling and coverage throughout the game. The team will look to grow from this experience and sharpen their execution moving forward.

The Northern Lebanon Midgets held on for a thrilling 13–12 victory over Carlisle in a Saturday morning matchup. Quarterback Markus Miller set the tone early with a quarterback sneak for a first-quarter touchdown, followed by a 20-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Nolan Anspach. After a penalty pushed the Vikings back on the extra point attempt, Miller found running back Sam Kline for a successful two-point conversion, giving Northern Lebanon a 13–0 halftime lead. The Herd battled back in the second half, taking advantage of turnovers and penalties to cut the lead to one point, but a critical extra point block by linebacker Liam Good preserved the win. Miller finished 13 of 16 passing for 124 yards, Kline had six catches for 64 yards, and Anspach caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. On defense, lineman Blayze Kimm recorded eight tackles (7 TFL), while Luke Bennethum added six tackles, three for loss, helping secure the victory.

The Palmyra Ponies delivered a dominant performance, taking an early 12–0 lead and never looking back. In the second half, the entire squad saw action as the Cougars improved to 3–0 with a 28–0 win. Derek Doster had his best game of the season, rushing for two touchdowns and helping lead the team to a convincing victory.

The Palmyra Smurfs continued their growth on Sunday against Mechanicsburg. Despite facing an older, faster squad, the young Cougars banded together in the second half to mount several long drives and move the chains for a few first downs.
