Sam Wolford Dominates at Waterway Duals

Northern Lebanon senior Sam Wolford, already committed to the Naval Academy, continued to make waves on the mat with an impressive showing at the 2025 Waterway Duals held at Spooky Nook.

Competing in the High School Club Division for Stellar Trained’s Embo Team, Wolford went 8-0, demonstrating dominance against teams from across the nation. Over the course of two days of competition, he recorded a total of eight wins, including four by Tech Fall, three by Decision, and one by Fall (pin).

His final match of the competition was particularly notable, as he defeated Alex Rozas, a three-time Louisiana State Champion and Virginia Tech commit, currently ranked #9 at 120 pounds nationally.

Wolford’s success at the Waterway Duals comes on the heels of a strong showing at the PIAA State Championships, where he captured 2nd place at 114 pounds, improving on his 4th place finish the previous year. This dominant performance against top-level competition bodes well as he heads into his senior season, where expectations will surely be high for the Northern Lebanon standout.

Elijah Foltz Shows Promise

Also in action at the 2025 Waterway Duals was Palmyra’s Elijah Foltz, competing for Stellar Trained – Seripas. Over the two-day event, Foltz went 5-2, demonstrating skill and resilience against strong competition. His victories included one Tech Fall, two Falls (pins), one Decision, and one Major Decision, while his two losses came by Decision and Tech Fall.

Foltz, who will be a sophomore this season, showed promise on the national stage and is poised for continued growth as he develops his wrestling career.
