After defeating Manheim Township last Thursday at Fairview, Cedar Crest entered Tuesday’s final regular-season matchup at Conestoga Country Club just one win behind the Blue Streaks in the Section 1 standings. A win in this match would give them a share of the Section 1 title.
Dylan Ramsey (73, +3) led the charge for the Falcons. The senior, who has made a high school career out of performing under pressure, ended in a tie atop the leaderboard. Carson DiBiaso (76, +6), Bryn Brandt (77, +7), and Drew Gebhard (81, +11) also delivered strong rounds to round out the team scoring, while Davin Kolter and Jackson Seidel (both 87, +17) competed on behalf of the blue and gray.
The Falcons posted a team score of 307 (+27). Despite a solid effort by Manheim Township, they could not overcome the challenge put forth by Cedar Crest. With the Falcons finishing eight strokes ahead of the Streaks, they secured a share of the Section 1 Championship.
Cedar Crest coach Drew Gates reflected on the performance:
“I am really proud of how they competed the past two matches. No room for error. We felt confident at our home course at Fairview, but Conestoga has been a course we’ve struggled with. We actually lost the section title on a tiebreaker at Conestoga in 2022, when Dylan was a freshman. Hope we can continue this momentum into Leagues!”
The Lancaster Lebanon League Championship will be played next Thursday at Lebanon Country Club, where Cedar Crest will look to out-duel Manheim Township once again on their way to a League Championship.
