Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week.

Female Nominees
Claire Borcky (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Volleyball: Borcky made her presence felt at the net last week, finishing with 7 blocks, 7 aces, and 3 digs. Her efforts helped the Lady Vikings earn wins over Lancaster Mennonite and Octorara as they went 2-1 on the week.
Qynne Demler (New Covenant / Jr.) – Soccer: Demler played a critical role in the Flames’ 2-0 week, scoring 3 goals and adding 2 assists in two matches. Her strong play was especially key in a hard-fought win over West Shore.
Jules Kautz (Palmyra / Sr.) – Volleyball: Kautz was a force at the net, tallying 18 kills in matches against Carlisle and Lower Dauphin. Attacking at a .630 clip, she and teammate Hannah McInerney helped push Palmyra to five sets against #1-ranked LD.
Savannah Kleinfelter (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Field Hockey: The senior goalkeeper came up big, making 31 saves on 36 shots faced to help the Dutchmen go 3-0 with wins over Octorara, Solanco, and Donegal.
Kenzie Long (Palmyra / Sr.) – Soccer: Long powered the Cougars’ attack last week, tallying 4 goals and 2 assists over three matches. Palmyra went 2-1 with wins over Ephrata and CD East as Long continued to be a driving force up front.
Meredith Noll (ELCO / Jr.) – Field Hockey: Playing six games in seven days, Noll helped lead the Raiders to a 5-1 record with 5 goals and 4 assists. Her week was highlighted by a hat trick in a 3-2 win at Donegal on Saturday.
Mikalyn Weaber (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – Field Hockey: The junior goalkeeper preserved a 3-0 shutout win over Garden Spot with 4 saves. Earlier in the week, she made 18 saves to keep the Falcons competitive against a dominant Hempfield squad and added 25 saves versus Penn Manor
Male Nominees
Tyce Boyer (ELCO / Sr.) – Soccer: The senior goalkeeper has been a steady anchor for the Raiders all season. Boyer recorded a shutout in a 4-0 win at Octorara and has made key saves in recent matches against top District 3 opponents, keeping ELCO competitive throughout. In three games last week, Boyer stopped 14 shots.
Diego Bustillo (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Soccer: Bustillo played in two games last week, contributing a goal and an assist. He has continued to provide steady play and leadership for the Vikings throughout the season.
Landyn Kline (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Football: The linebacker led the Falcons’ defense in a 40-15 win over Penn Manor, recording 11 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 1 interception. His efforts helped Cedar Crest force six turnovers in the victory.
Travis McDannell (Palmyra / Sr.) – Football: McDannell carried the ball 18 times for 100 yards and a touchdown in a narrow 13-12 loss to Shippensburg. His hard running kept the Cougar offense moving, while the Palmyra defense held the line against a heavily favored opponent.
Gavin Meson (New Covenant / Jr.) – Soccer: Meson had a standout week with 6 goals and 5 assists across three matches, helping the Flames go 3-0. Along the way, he reached the 100-point milestone for his career.
Hudson Sellers (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Football: Sellers contributed on both sides of the ball in a 42-0 win over Hamburg. He rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown, provided key blocking for an offense that ran for 380 yards, and added 12 tackles with 3 tackles for loss on defense.
Noteworthy Performance
Palmyra Defense – Football: The Cougar defense played lights out in Friday night’s matchup with Shippensburg, holding the opposition under 100 yards both rushing and passing. Aside from a 62-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, Shippensburg totaled fewer than 150 yards. The defense also forced two turnovers with two interceptions, keeping Palmyra in the game and showing exceptional discipline and effort all night.
