Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week.

Female Nominees
Sam Fink (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Girls Soccer: Fink recorded a goal and an assist across two games last week. While both ended in losses for the Lady Falcons, the senior striker’s playmaking and leadership continue to play a key role in the development of the young squad.
Akiaya Hershey (New Covenant / Sr.) – Girls Soccer: Hershey scored two goals this week, including a header, to help the Flames to a 1-0-1 record with a win over High Point. Known to her teammates as “Cobra Kai,” she continues to spark New Covenant’s attack.
Emily Marinkov (Northern Lebanon / So.) – Girls Soccer: In the August 12th match at Big Spring during the Bulldog Bash, Marinkov scored a hat trick and added an assist in the Lady Vikings’ 8-2 victory over the host team. Through five games this season, the sophomore striker has tallied five goals and three assists, helping Northern Lebanon to a 3-2 record.
Georgia Sellers (Annville-Cleona / Fr.) – Field Hockey: In three games, the freshman scored 4 goals and added an assist this past week as the Dutchmen improved to 3-1 on the season.
Chloe Shirk (ELCO / Sr.) – Girls Volleyball: Shirk led ELCO to a 3-0 start, highlighted by 16 kills and 7 digs against Cedar Crest, where she also served 10 straight points to rally the Raiders from a 24-16 deficit to close out the match. She added 17 kills vs. Wyomissing and 14 more against Warwick, finishing the week with 47 kills and just 2 missed serves in 42 attempts.
Rayven Soliday (Lebanon / Jr.) – Girls Soccer: Soliday earned Player of the Week honors after back-to-back shutouts. She recorded four saves and scored a penalty kick in the 2-0 win over Reading, then made one save in a 4-0 shutout of Hanover. The junior goalkeeper has been a key presence for Lebanon early this season.
Another Standout Performance
Another standout performance this past week came from Stefani Guedez Villarraga, who delivered a herculean effort in goal for Lebanon Field Hockey. Facing a relentless Wyomissing attack, she recorded 33 saves despite the Cedars falling 15-0. While the scoreline was lopsided, Guedez Villarraga’s individual performance stood out as nothing short of outstanding.
Male Nominees
Ben Allwein (Annville-Cleona / Fr.) – Golf: Allwein shot a 66 (-4) at Conestoga Country Club to post the low score of the entire match. He paired with teammate Logan Francis to finish 1-2 as Annville-Cleona went 5-0 on the day, moving into a tie for first place in LL Section 4.
Paul Williams (ELCO / Sr.) – Football: The senior defensive end was dominant in Thursday’s game at Conrad Weiser, piling up 11 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 sack in a disruptive performance.
Bryce Yocum (Northern Lebanon / Jr.) – Football: In Friday’s hard-fought 16-13 loss to Oxford, Yocum caught four passes for 39 yards and a touchdown, including a fourth-quarter score from QB Bryan Mitzel that closed the gap. On defense, he recorded nine tackles, four tackles for loss, and two quarterback hurries.
Sammy Zeisloft (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – Boys Soccer: Zeisloft helped Cedar Crest win both of its matches this past week. Against Garden Spot, he assisted on the first goal and scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory. He added one of two goals in a 2-0 win over Governor Mifflin. The three-year starter has established himself as one of the league’s top central midfielders. The Falcons are 2-0 to start the season.
