Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week. Linked below are the articles about our most recent winners of the award.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
One vote per email address, per day will be allowed.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.

Female Nominees
Kambria Harbaugh (Lebanon / Sr.) – Softball: Against Ephrata, Harbaugh went 2-2 in a performance that included a double and 2 RBI. The senior finished the week with a season OBP of .476.
Addison Kubica (Northern Lebanon / Jr.) – Softball: In the Vikings’ win against Muhlenberg, the junior went 3-3 with a walk, 2 RBI, & 3 runs scored. Kubica added a stolen base. She is batting .533 on the season as Northern Lebanon has raced out to a 4-1 record.
Mia Lutz (Cedar Crest / Fr.) – Softball: In a close 15-14 loss to Ephrata, Lutz was 3-4 with 2 RBI & 2 runs scored. She also drew a walk in the game.
Gabby Smith (ELCO / Sr.) – Softball: In wins over Cocalico & Lebanon last week, Smith was incredible at the plate, going a combined 7-7 with 3 home runs, 7 RBI, & 6 runs scores. She also picked up a win & a save, pitching 5 scoreless innings in which she racked up 10 Ks. So far this season, Smith has set several program records, including the newest record for all-time home runs (13 & counting). The Raiders finished the week with an unblemished record of 10-0 to start the season.
Danika Setlock (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Softball: In Thursday’s win over Garden Spot, the senior went 4-4 with a walk. Among her hits, she had a double and a triple. Setlock’s stellar day at the plate resulted in 4 RBI & 2 runs scored. She also swiped a base. Setlock is now batting .588 this season.
Kate Shenk (Palmyra / Jr.) – Softball: The junior was 2-2 with an RBI against Carlisle. Shenk was then 1-2 in a game against Lower Dauphin before it was called on account of rain. She is now batting .438 this season with a .500 OBP.

Male Nominees
Eddie Ferrer (Lebanon / Jr.) – Track & Field: The junior jumper won both the Long Jump & Triple Jump for the Cedars as they battled Cedar Crest in head-to-head action. Ferrer’s jumps measured 20’8” & 40’7”, respectively.
Travis Hostetter (Annville-Cleona / Jr.) – Tennis: Combing his Singles & Doubles matches, the junior went 4-0. This included his #1 Singles victory in a 3rd set tiebreaker against Lancaster Catholic. Hostetter’s hard-fought win gave the Dutchmen the 4-3 victory.
Sam Keener (ELCO / Jr.) – Track & Field: In a dual meet against Annville-Cleona, the junior won the Triple Jump (38’ 7.5”) and took 2nd in the Pole Vault (11’). Keener then finished the meet running the 4x400m relay for the Raiders.
Riley Messinger (Northern Lebanon / Sr.) – Baseball: In the Vikings’ win over Lancaster Mennonite, the senior was 3-3 with a double & 3 RBI. Messinger is now batting .450 this season, helping Northern Lebanon to a 7-1 record at week’s end.
Tyler Peck (Palmyra / Sr.) – Baseball: The senior catcher helped the Cougars to three more wins last week, going 5-7 with a home run, triple, & 3 walks. 5 runs scored. Peck’s dynamic performance, which resulted in a 1.249 slugging %, led to 3 RBI & 2 runs scored. The Cougars are now 7-0 to start the season.
Cameron Tirado (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – Track & Field: In a dual meet against Lebanon, the junior soared above the bar at 6’6” to win High Jump. The height reached by Tirado was his PR & it also tied the Earl Boltz Stadium record. He also placed 3rd in the 100m with an 11.2.
