Help us decide which male and female athlete should be honored for their outstanding efforts during last week’s local high school sports action. While you may have a favorite school or athlete already, we still encourage you to read through the lists below and then click on the link to vote.
The winners will be announced at the end of the week. Linked below are the articles about our most recent winners of the award.
Voting will remain open until Thursday at 10 pm.
One vote per email address, per day will be allowed.
While athletes can be nominated multiple weeks, the winners will be removed and updates will be provided as the season progresses.
While this may be a vote and emotions can run high, this is intended to bring attention to some of the best performances from our local student-athletes.
Nominations, which are made working with the schools, are listed below in alphabetical order.
Please read about each nominee, celebrate their accomplishment, and then go vote who you feel is most deserving of this week’s honor.

Female Nominees
Katelyn Brenner (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Lacrosse: In two games last week against Daniel Boone & Hempfield, the Brenner tallied 8 goals & 13 assists. The Falcons were 1-1 in those contests.
Kendall Cooper (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Track & Field – At the Tim Cook Invitational, the senior finished with silver medals in the 100m & 200m. Her time of 25.39 in the 200m was her personal record. Cooper is currently the top-ranked District 3 AA runner in both events. She also joined the 4x100m for a 2nd place finish. The relay team’s time of 49.13 currently ranks them as the top AA in the State.
Makenna Haas (ELCO / Sr.) – Track & Field: In the first outdoor meet of the season against Donegal, the senior jumper broke two school records. In the Long Jump, Haas leaped 18’2”. In the Triple Jump, she recorded a jump of 38’ ¼”.
Liliana Harrison (Lebanon / Sr.) – Track & Field: In the first meet of the season at Ephrata, Harrison broke Lebanon’s school record in the Discus when she recorded a throw of 125’. The previous record was held by Kelly Brossman (’05).
Addison Hollenbach (Northern Lebanon / Jr.) – Softball: The Vikings began their season with wins over Lancaster Catholic, Manheim Township, & Hershey. The junior went 5-10 with a double, an RBI, & 5 runs scored. Hollenbach also went 2-0 on the mound, pitching two complete games. In 14 innings, she had a 1.56 ERA and had 23 Ks. Additionally, opponents batted just .120 against her.
Kate Poorman (Cedar Crest / Jr.) – Softball: In three games last week, the junior was 5-11 at the plate with a double & a triple. Poorman’s performance resulted in 7 RBI and 3 runs scored. She also walked twice. In Friday’s game against Lebanon, Poorman picked up the win on the mound (3.2 IP, 2 ER, 3 K).
Male Nominees
4x100m Relay Team (Palmyra) – Track & Field: At the Tim Cook Invitational, the team of Landon Weldon, Travis McDannell, Tyler Burgess & Jacob Burgess won gold with a time of 41.24. This smashed the Palmyra school record, which had been 42.11. It also ranks as the 5th fastest time run in Pennsylvania history.
Bryson Fogelsanger (Annville-Cleona / Sr.) – Track & Field: In last Thursday’s meet against Susquenita, the senior Javelin thrower had a top throw of 175’. This not only set Fogelsanger’s PR, but is currently the top throw of the season in District 3 (AA). On Saturday, he finished 5th at the Tim Cook Invitational.
Adrian Gonzalez (Northern Lebanon / Jr.) – Baseball: Last week, The Vikings went 3-0 with wins over Cocalico, ELCO, & Hershey. In those games, the junior went 6-10 with 4 RBI, 6 runs scored, 4 walks, & a stolen base. Against ELCO, Gonzalez started the game, earning the victory after giving up 1 earned run in 6.1 innings. He also had 8 Ks, while not giving up a walk. On the season, Gonzalez is batting .400. Additionally, he is 3-0 with a 1.53 ERA.
Landon Karczewski (Palmyra / Sr.) – Lacrosse: The Cougars split a pair of games last week. In those contests, Karczewski tallied 6 goals & 3 assists.
Tate Lovell (ELCO / Sr.) – Tennis: The senior won each of his #1 Singles & #1 Doubles matches (paired with Brett Wenger) against opponents from Elizabethtown & Lancaster Catholic. Lovell’s effort helped the Raiders split the matchups, defeating the Crusaders (5-2) & losing a close one to the Bears (4-3).
Josh Perugorria (Lebanon / Sr.) – Baseball: On Saturday against Hamburg, Perugorria pitched a complete game shutout as the Cedars earned a 7-0 victory. The senior scattered 4 hits, while collecting 7 Ks and issuing just 2 walks. He also went 2-3 at the plate, including a triple.
Ryder Rohrer (Cedar Crest / Sr.) – Volleyball: Last week, the Falcons earned 3-0 victories over Northern Lebanon & Warwick. In the two wins, the senior setter totaled 51 assists. Over the weekend, Rohrer was again outstanding as the Falcons finished 3rd at the Bobcat Tournament, where he ended the day with 130 assists.
