On Valentine’s Day, the second PIAA-sanctioned Sectionals for Girls Wrestling took place. District 3 was split into three events, an expansion from the two events held last year. This was the result of the sport’s growing popularity. LebCo was represented by each of its public schools, all of which now have official programs.
When the wrestling was complete, LebCo wrestlers claimed sixteen medals. The medal haul included three golds: Kylee Trostle (ELCO), Anna Lanka (Northern Lebanon), and Lily Harchuska (Cedar Crest). Ten girls have qualfiied for Regionals.
The top six finishers in each weight class medaled, while only the top four qualified to move on to the South Central Regional Championships. Regionals are set to take place on Saturday, March 1st, at Penn Manor High School.
